Filter = 9$
Large Oring = 6$

Works out to $22 - $24 per change CDN prices.

Being 5W20 oil, it would cost about the same to do it yourself.

I get coupons from Mazda all the time for 19.95 oil changes at the dealer. USD foooos.

$4.72 for filter, and both O rings.
4 quarts Mobil 1 0-20 at $4.50 each (Wally World)

$22.72 and about 15 minutes of my time.

Downside?
Less convenient than someone else doing it.
Have to recyle the oil at PepBoys.
Got my hands dirty....

Upside?
Better oil.
Know it's done right
No missing bolts, crossthreaded stuff.
No guessing, I know I have 2 new O rings and a new filter cartridge in.
No leaks, no drips because I was not in a hurry.

if im paying 16$ for the filter set, then another 5$ for oil thats already 21$. Mite as we pay the extra 4$ and not deal with it. (unless i can find the oil filter cheaper.)

We had a problem that no one carried the filter, only dealers did...so our 1st oil change at dealer as insane!! Like $40(+) or more if I remember right..??

ive been seeing a wide range of prices for both the oil change and the filter set....

so i guess my quoted prices is middle of the road and i should be happy....
