How many soon to be boosted MP3's?

I've noticed since Spoolin has started selling his kit, many more people are starting their turbo project. How many people are going to be in the elite boosted club. I know of about 5 or 6 so far. Just curious.

I'm Definately In!

I'm definately shooting towards boost with spoolins non intercooled kit (going intercooled as soon as I can)

:D :D

Well I don't know how soon it'll happen but I want turbo too...it's not so much a money issue as a warranty thing....don't want to void my warranty. :(

I'm also worried about the warrenty. But, that's why I'm going with only about 5-6 psi for a while. Also my brother in law is a mechanic at a saturn dealer and I have acess to his tools and lift on the weekends. So if I break something I should be able to fix it.(hopefully)! I'm ready to put money down now though, whoever gives me the best price first. I like Spoolins kit though, just without the turbo.

Is it because you don't like the T3 or is it just because you can get a better deal elsewhere or something? That's what's been wracking my brain...I want to get the best possible overall turbo I can....just don't know enough info about that sorta thing. :( The other reason I want to wait tho is because I want to upgrade my internals and also install(hopefully) the LSD off the Mazdaspeed when I have my car apart anyhow....so that kinda forces me to wait for awhile anyhow.

No, it's not that I don't like the T3. It's just that I can get a good deal on a KKK K26. But like yourself, I'm still learning about turbos. That's why I was asking the input from the more knowlegable boost junkies. I know the KKK turbos are very good quality, but do they match up on the same exhaust flange as the T3?

It's almost like me and you need to get spoolin and chdesign in a chat room and pick their brains for an hour just so we'll leave the poor guys alone. :D

You are so right. I feel bad about constantly bothering them with questions. So spoolin and chdesign, if you are reading, sorry about that, but I'm just trying to learn and get the cheapest price on my turbo project. Bear with us.

I thought Linux said that you were thinking of selling your MP3 Razhael. What made you change your mind?

i was going to sell it, but after doing more deep research, asking myself if i really wanted to go into debt again (just paid all my car), and realizing the rx-8 was too expensive for me to afford whenever it is launched made me stick around with the mp3.

I believe that with some proper tunning and more engine mods (rods, forged pistons) this car can give me more than enough fun.

I was the one that first talked to Mr. Bell a long time ago, coming from a Miata background where every miatafreak worships his kits and Flying Miata FMU. And when he told me he would have Bill Cardell (the dude from Flying Miata) helping him out doing the FMU for the mp3 turbo kit some time ago he got my credit card number! :D

Check www.flyingmiata.com for more info, with 9psi they get 100-120WHP thats freaking crazy, but true, doubt it? go to miata.net and ask. And they use BEGI kits but basically just the modified FMU.

And i didnt get a miata because it was way too much of a hassle to fing a used 2001 Black one around...

and im dying to have my car back from the dealer!! they finally got the bushings today but told me it would not be ready until tomorrow! im tired of this 02 Ford Taurus, now i do realice why Ford has such a bad name.... newer than mine, few miles, and it feels like its going to "selfdestruction mode" when accelerating!!! scary car indeed.

keep me up to date on corky's progress i hate to call and bother him all the time but I am dying for this damn turbo.

I guess I'll get whatever turbo seems best for the money at the time. It won't be until this fall the earliest tho...PLUS, I still have to figure out where I'm getting it done. Where can I get this done in New Jersey...anyone know of any shops?

Corkys stuff is nice....I had one of his kits on my 93 miata( I have owned 3 turbo miatas) Then I made my own kit and found out how much better it was then Corky's;)
Unless you wanna settle for small cheesy intercoolers, cast log style manifolds and intercooler piping that has enough bends to make a maze look straight. Im not knocking Corky.....He is the man and an expert. But his kits are mass produced and have economics in mind. If you dont believe me go to miata.net on the forum and check out what everybody is running or wants to run.....its no longer flyin miata kits guys but custom tubular manifolds/ tecII's and and custom turbos.

well, that can be true spoolin, but for me its my best bet, he leaves close to me, gives me 1year warranty (so i can actually go there with the car) and he told me this was a base kit and that we could work around upgrading it later :D

i was going for tripoint when they just said tey were going to start, but then i realized how far they r from me and that would probably put me in the hassle of finding a good shop to do the install and more important, the tunning.

Razhael looks like corky is your best bet!!:D
As for me I had an FM kit on my 93 miata. I also had a custom turbo 95 and 99. As you can see I have a link system that was off an fm kit modified to fit our cars. Atleast you will have the great support and a well warrantied product:D

i always wanted a FM II on my 93 miata, but didnt have the money at the moment, and i was kinda doubting if it was worth to do it on the 1.6 instead of the 1.8

I would have gone the custom way (like buying the manifold and stuff from you or the others who are offering it) but this is my first "soon to be" turbo car. I hardly know how to change the oil in my car... so you can imagine i dont have much faith in my mechanic skills
