I'm looking to buy an ms3 and i recently found a 2007 GT model for $12,999 but it has 86 thousand miles on it, the car runs well but I still feel kinda iffy about it, what do yall think? I currently have an 03 p5 and it has 115 thouand miles on it, so thats a 4 year difference but only about 30 thousand miles difference... what yall think?

if I were going to trade in a car, I would want to trade down by more miles than that. My car has been pretty good to me, but I've gone up to 105K from the 68K that was on it when I bought it about 2.5 years ago.

Thats alot of miles, but honestly, with this car it's hit or miss anyway. Some drive it like they stole it all the time and never have any infamous smoking problems. Some drive it off the lot brand new and a week later they're in the dealer getting a new turbo. Not trying to scare you away from the speed, but definitely have it checked out. If you have a trusted mechanic have them at least do a compression test, and also let it idle for at least 10 minutes to see if any smoke appears

thanks for the help guys, i decided to skip on that speed3 and im currently looking at one with alot less miles, a few thousand more dollars but itll bring piece of mind haha

I refused to buy my Speed with anymore than 50K +/-, there was at a dealership here that was $17,000 and it had 69k on it. Then I search and found my GT for $16,999 with 37k on it. Needless to say I'm much happier knowing I bought mine with half those miles at the same price.

its usually about 12K per year so...say your looking at 07 then it should be around 36K...but now a days people are driving more than 12K a/yr....so that same 07 might have like 45K....just do your homework...use autotrader.com to look at other vehicles to compare

Eeh, 12,000 miles a year is a low average. It's usually closer to 15,000. 45K is pretty good for a 2007. Plus you never know when in '07 it was purchased. Could be 4 years old by now.

20K is the new "average"...Mine is an 2007 ms3 but built/put on sale in Nov 2006..Never had an issue with it. Sitting with 45K right now.

i have a 03 msp and its at 58k now and just had to replace the stock clutch! f'in weird it laster this long.

Hopefully I can keep off the mileage and retain some value. As well as the harmful salt deposits that destroy cars.
