How long should the stock clutch last?

I suspect the automatic wear adjustment of the clutch is what you're feeling after giving it the spurs but I can't say for sure, because apparently I drive like a pussy so I have no experience.

I installed the SURE RMM and love it! The car pulls a lot harder, clutch response is more in tune and engine sounds a bit more aggressive. Harder idle, but nothing significant; actually prefer over stock. This should have been my first mod and not mod 6 or 7.

Clutch longevity entirely depends on how you drive the car. I think the MS3 has a pretty solid clutch which stands up well to some abuse. Of course, the more stress you put on the clutch by increasing HP and TQ figures will shorten the life of the clutch. Be nice to it and it will be nice to you!

Has anyone else have some wierd warping kind of noise when doing slow sharp turns (K-turns) after installing the RMM? I had the one street unit sells, had it in for a while now and still makes it only in those sharp turns tho.

That's your tranny making that noise and it's normal in this car. Change out the tranny fluid to the Ford synthetic and it will quiet down some but not completely.

I'm over 90k on the original clutch (lots of spirited and aggressive driving). No signs of slippage or uneveness. Like a person above said, assuming no factory defects, how long it lasts depends on you.

i have a 93 mx3 and i have 155k on my clutch and it just went out today actually.. kinda sad..

Stock MS3 clutch should last quite a long time. I have 62k on mine and I plan to attend track meets until I blow the mother ****** to smithereens. Seems the stock unit is holding upwards of 350whp as well? I'm right around 300whp. And it's holding that juuuuusssttt fine.

Just rolled past 88k miles and everything is just peachy.

Well since you asked. I have drag raced the car quite a few times and i was at the track within first month.
since then i have street launched and flat footed and all that. I have had The smell permeate the cabin and once at the track under 21lbs and new tune i lost the grip. Track was very sticky that day! but at 74 k the stocker still holds up. although i do not beat her up any more. The design is able to clean itself up after an overheated run.
But if you are a daily driver with some occasional runs to redline and beyond you should be good for the life of the car, if you are more like me you should've upgraded awhile ago. One of the best factory units i have run across as are the brakes also

I don't have a 3, but on my MP5 I ran my stocker until 120k, and when I replaced it I only did the change out because the mileage was so high. I could have kept it going for a lot longer. I think the oem clutched mazda uses are pretty decent for DD's etc. And I am not a grandma driver either...

2000 Mazda Protege ES @ 109k miles almost all done in aggressive Los Angeles city traffic driving. Just agreed to get my clutch assembly replaced ($1300 - ouch). Heard strange metal rattling recently when going to 1st, 3rd, and 5th. Clutch pedal has been too sensitive and 1st and 2nd haven't been catching for a while like it used to.

you should not let things go. As soon as you feel a flag raised, get into it and see whats going on.

I lied before in 2012. I have not mellowed much in driving style
When i had the car running this summer/fall i beat the snockers out of my speed3 . Not off the light drops but hard shifting under boost still . no wonder i have so much money into front tires. I downshift aggressively too. 76 k

94,000 miles of very aggressive driving. Lots of clutch drop launched, and REGULAR flat shifting from 2-3 on up. My mods put me at 300 whp. This is a stout clutch that should last me a lot longer.

Buddy of mine who has a 09 GTi with a K04 and apr tune plus bolt ons just finished his off at 90 k.
he is getting a Spec stage 2+. i am a little jealous !
But my stocker just wont quit : )

Mine's not a MSP, bur rather a p5... still going strong on the original clutch at 188,790 miles.

Nanner nanner, boo boo.
