How I increased my mpg ?

Coast with the car in gear instead of in neutral if you can. It takes 0 fuel to have a car coast down in gear while idling requires some. So whatever distance you can coast in gear gives you that mileage for free.

This website has some pretty interesting ideas:

Guy responsible for the site is getting 50 mpg out of a regular Accord. Some of the techniques are a little on the radical side - pushing car to get it rolling, shutting it off at lights, etc..

If anything, you can register and track your progress. Below is the results of my P5 since January of 08. That was about 75% city until mid-May when my wife got her new Fit - now the 5 is mine and it will be improving...

Yeah, I saw this guy on CNN.com the other day. It was his story that got me thinking about how to improve my mpg. I'm not going to the point of shutting off my car at lights and having friends push me to get the car started though.

Yup, if you take the car out of gear and coast in neutral it will still use fuel to keep the engine going, if you keep the car in gear and let it slow down it will turn off the injectors. Fuel injection 101

ScanguageII is a usefull tool aswell, after installing one in my car (and adjusting my driving habits) im getting about 6.3L/100km :))

If I coast in gear my car uses about 1.3L/100km
