How Heavy Is The Stock Clutch Feel?

Is the stock clutch feather light or moderately heavy?

Yesterday, I drove a co-workers car and his clutch was super light compared to mine. Mine was moderately heavy but no where near as my friend's s2k clutch. Does my car have some sort of aftermarket clutch? I bought my car used so I have no idea what the previous owner did to it.

Also, where is the clutch grab point supposed to be? Mine grabs near the floor. Is this normal?

mine grabs up top and its pretty light as i was told by other people.

oh yea its stock btw

Mine is light and grabs almost when the pedal is all the way out. (80k original stock clutch)

I want more agressive... and new. lol

It's light, but I've felt way lighter. My friend's EG civic comes to mind...you just think and it goes in.

anyone know why mine feels heavy and also grabs so low?

does my car have some sort of aftermarket clutch?

how hard does the stock clutch grab? does it have a huge grab point?

You might have an aftermarket clutch. Apparently there's an area of adjustment on clutch engagement, but the Protege clutch usually grabs when the pedal is almost all the way out and in a short window of pedal movement. At least from my perspective.

my clutch is heavy compared to the hondas i have owned over the years and mine grabs almost as soon as i start to release like yours and mine is stock from what i know.

do mazdaspeed proteges have a heavier clutch?

according to a friend of mine who has driven the msp and p5, he said that mine feels the same as the msp clutch...

I feel the same way bout the protege clutch as you do.
i may think the OP has an aftermarket clutch, or it might have been adjusted or sum sort.

I wish I had a really agressive clutch. Either its ingaged or its not. No pedal play in between.

But yeah I'm pretty sure thats the case, one of those 2. ^^

i think it probably is an aftermarket clutch. according to my friend, my clutch feels very nice and grabby compared to the 99 protege he's driven before.

i also had the slave cylinder bled, and the master cylinder adjusted yesterday. now it grabs slightly higher and there's more pedal travel than before. (it originally grabbed right at the floor and travel was a bit short).

Hmm, I checked the clutch on one of my friend's p5's and his was surprising smoother feeling and lighter than mine. I didn't know how his grabbed, but mine is a bit heavier and grabs about less than halfway out. I think mine is stock.

My car is just like the first post. Has 106k miles, the clutch is heavy, creeks at the bottom of the pedal and released at the floor when I bought it. I adjusted the pushrod to bring it up a little but I'm sure the clutch is starting to go. Doesn't slip but it shudders now and then. I would completely mash the pedal when I got into my 323 after driving the P5.
