I was looking around the sight at all the different versions of M2's and now I'm really curious to see what it would take to center the exhaust out the rear? Anyone do this yet in the US?

I'd guess a weird muffler with some 90* tips... because of that box hanging down right in the middle of the trunk area. But who knows! I'm sure the Japanese companies have this figured out already.

Thanks for the vid and info vdsracing. How hard would it be to install this kit? Is it a simple bolt-on or do you have to modify in anyway?

I have no idea. lol. I didn't really look at it too much when I was undercoating my car but I did notice it..

...............................we're talking about the underside of the car.... lol.

i looked under today and assume yall are talking about the small box with the 2 or 3 hoses on the left side?

How do you go about undercoating a car? Is it difficult/expensive? I live in Minnesota and seems like it would be useful, if there's a specific product you'd recommend I'd appreciate it.

Josh I've used RusFre brand clear spray on stuff before, it never actually gets hard like paint. I used some of it on the 2 where I couldn't reach with a brush.... Pic of what I use: http://raybuck.com/images/F18352.jpg

But mainly on the 2 I used something I have never used before. I actually bought it to coat the tranny tunnel of my miata with(it's a heat insulator also), I just figured a trial run on the 2 would be ok, too!

http://metalshield.com/ is where I got it. A lot of the scientific talk about why it works as a rust preventative is completely over my head. Maybe you'll understand :) you have to buy a gallon though.... It gets moderately hard, grayish in color. Places where I have put the jack have rubbed it off, though. The rest of it stayed on good so far! (~23k miles)

Edit: with shipping I think the gallon came in under $100. I THINK. The shipping was expensive due to being hazardous material. It was in a gallon can, in a bag, in a box.

As far as how easy, I spent a good half day doing it, and I had the car on a lift (drive on type). Prepped by washing the underside the day before with a pressure washer to get rid of anything big and then driving it... Then the day of I cleaned underneath with a soapy rag, rinsed with a hose (not high pressure), wiped it down, let it dry and then painted as much as I could possibly reach with the brushes I bought (4" and 2"). I removed the exhaust from the header back and also took the center chassis brace and exhaust tunnel heat shield off.

Sorry for the off topic. Didnt realize I typed that much... Stupid small phone screens!

HKS makes a couple real nice center exits. You have to move the carcoal canister over with some brackets, looks to come with the kit.
