How good are the splitsecond A/fc? Thinking about getting one.

A few questions and topics of concern:

1.) I just wanna lean out the car a little bit but not to much cuz i heard you can get engine knock and ping and that stuff. Maybe someone can shed light on this. Has it happened to anyone (yet)?

2.) I have a 2.5" catless midpipe, highflow filter on my MAF where the airbox used to be, and a bov. What kind of gains am i looking at (if anyone has these same mods)?

3.) Does anyone have a map for the above setup? I checked out the sticky but it doesnt have anything for me.

4.) How do create maps? Do i need all sorts of gauges and stuff to know my a/f ratio and a wideband and boost gauge? Because as of right now i dont have any of that.

The AFC is great, it's super easy to install and very user friendly. You will need a wideband to make proper use of it, and a boost gauge would be a nice addition too. But the wideband is essential.. without it I wouldn't really bother. Your gains won't be very much since your only performance mod is the midpipe, but it's still worth it cuz the stock ECU is crap. Supermap should be more than sufficient given your mods, but you won't know until you install it and monitor your AFRs using a wideband..

yeah, you probably wouldnt see a ton of dyno gain, but it really evens out the powerband and should still net you like 12whp or so.

12whp is a noticable difference. I can dig it. I especially like the ssafc because if i get other mods i can adjust the tuning.
