How fast are the GTPs???

I had a '99 GTP stay with me in my '00 Mustang GT (stock) door to door...but it's fwd, man! If you're gonna put a v-8 in a car, make it rwd. That's the only problem I have.
Didnt know that. Are the new ones RWD??

The new W-bodies? Of course not.
Wait for the new G8's though, they finally did it right!! Let's hope the rest of the car is done right!

With american cars I think it depends on the model more then the brand. Some RAM1500's are the nicest looking trucks, the viper is cool... but at the same time the viper has the worst break down history of any race car ever and the dodge transmissions are pretty bad. Mustangs are awsome with the exception of the bad ass 90's panzystangs also the mass production of mustangs is a turn off. Cadillac has impressed me with it's turn around, but at the same time I watched an awsome video of a CTS with 11k miles go to hell, and we rented one when we traveled to new york and it was loose suspension non responsive sail boat. The 300's and Chargers are awsome. I can't remember the name of the next muscle car that is comming out that looks pretty sick. Chevy's are twice as expensive to modify versus the Fords. It's information like this that keeps you in an open mind rather than deciding you hate domestics before you get your first pube just after you watch Fast and Furious.

The G8 is going to be sooo wicked! I can seriously see my self owning one. Its like a GTO but on a totally new chassis, better handling, nice interior, aggressive looks, 4DOORS!!!!! and a 6.0L LS2 V8, and its affordable Its like someone looked in my head and built the perfect car for me.

Now if I could only get a holden front end swap.

Yep the new challenger is going to be sick. Lets see how they stack up against the new generation of imports.

Damn. I'd love a brand new black challenger. Add's to list of possible next car lease or buy....
1)evo 10,
2)bmw TT 3-series
3)challenger

As long as they avoid the pitfalls they had with the Holden GTO's, they'll be fine.

Pontiac learned their lesson I believe when it came to naming their new full-size RWD sedan/Charger competitor. Rather than giving it a throwback name (Bonnie, Tempest, etc) - they gave it a new name, so there wouldn't be any 'die-hard' purists to disappoint.

Still, personally, it would be cool to see an old school throwback 'Bonneville' script logo at the back on top of the quad exhausts. (yes)

You are missing the point, Maxx. I'm not comparing japanese cars/engines with american cars. When i went to buy my car, i actually considered a red coupe GTP. I mean, look at their interiors, were the best at its time and their cars and design are unique (the aztec lol). They have used plastic, but hell what company hasn't. Have you got into a LS1 Trans Am? Even the third GEN trans am had a tight interior, with bucket seats and inflatable lumbars and s***. I'm not much aware of the latest models, but for the high 90's and first 2000s, Pontiac was very strong.

that has got to be the funniest thing I have ever read in a long time. Are you blind? Do you know what quality really is??? obviously not. Trans am...tight interior....hilarious. I was set on having one back in the day because I loved it's looks, engine, sound etc....then I sat in one and couldn't stop from laughing. Then I drove it, laughed even harder. Quick, yes, fun no, quality interior....ROFL. I've driven quite a few since then and my opinion never changes. Oversized, too heavy, put together like lego blocks, fisher price interior, and for a car that is so large why is it so small inside?

That being said, I can't wait to see the new challenger and new Camaro from what I've seen so far. But, I don't have high expectations based on what I've seen from the "big 3" in the past.

I don't kow about you, but i had a lot of fun in mines and people would talk about how comfy the car was, at front, yes it's a sports car. :-)

the past be darned. The G8 is going to kick butt and take names. Mark my words!

And crappy build quality or not, Ws6 Trans Ams are some brutal machines. Pure caveman muscle, zero sophistication. I can kinda appreciate that.

I just hope they have the fit and finish figured out. i got rid of my caddy because it had the fit and finish of a model put together by a 3 year old. and running gear about the same. if they make it tight like a euro car, then yeah they got a winner, but if, after 3 years it feels like a bag of bolt with rattles shakes and sqeaks, like every other GM product then i figure as much. they make it all pretty and nice for launch, then, turn around and cheap out and put crap parts in/on it.

Yup! They have domininated in the GM 3800 class for a long time. There current record is a low 9 second bad boy. Again, they are very capable cars.
