How far does your remote work?

Yup, there is a service bulletin on early production Mazda5 key fobs. I had mine fixed under the bulletin and it works soooo much better. Here's a link

The remotes on the 5 are not that great! But What I'd like to know is what brainiac though it would be a great idea for you to have to press the unlock button 3 times to open the drivers side sliding door!!!!! I mean come on !!! press 1 opens the drivers door only, press 2 opens BOTH passenger doors, and press 3 opens the drivers slider. that's just a retarded sequence!!!!!

How far does your remote work from your MAZDA5?

I found that my remote was abysmal but then it occurred to me that it could have been the bettery. Changed both and now they work almost as well as my 3.

The flip key may also eat through batteries more quickly. I'm going to keep an eye on the new battery's life.

That drivers sliding door is malfunctioning. It should only take two presses of the key fob button.

I had the same thing happen on mine, it would take 3-5 presses before the door would unlock, and the dealer replaced the door lock actuator for that door. No problem since then.
