How does everyones AC work?

I don't have A/C but my fan is starting to make some noise. Sounds like a time bomb on settings 1 and 2...Do you think something is wrong with the fan? I've only had my P5 for just over a month.

as far as i know, they dont fully charge cars with r134a. they fill them 3/4 way (estimate). that way they save money and the A/C still works. mine is only decent as well. not excellent.

Mine works so-so. I find it gets colder when I'm highway driving then when i'm city driving. You have to remember that with a black interior it'll take a lot longer to cool down. Recirculate works best.

It works OK, it will fog up the windows in certain conditions. I never use it past the 2 setting on the fan. Too loud and doesn't cool enough, air moves too fast over the evaporator to cool down.

Wow, A/C isn't standard in Canada? That's odd.

My A/C is pretty much always recirculating at 4. It's not cold at first, however, it does cool down enough to cause a lot of condensation on the dash. I'm talking like dripping off the top of the dash down onto the cup holders.

I open the roof a little to let he heat escape and recirculate on 3, even on hot August days in the Cincinnati Valley it cools down eventually. Remember you are driving a Mazda not a BMW, there are certian things that we must endure if we only want to spent $16000 on a car.

My a/c works great. I use recirculate on the hottest days or until the car cools down. Never had a problem. My car is black with black leather too.

My A/C sucks.. but I also live in TX... when it gets really hot, 100 or hotter, the AC light flickers off and on for some reason and it doesnt cool too well. Also, the car hops on takeoff when the A/C is on so I normally drive with the A/C off anyways.

Good to know that a setting of 2 is more efficient then 4.

Ok so its more efficient to use recirculate....but it's not good to always have it there right? The car does need outside air eventually?

Mine was alright until we bought the Honda. The Honda gets like a freezer in an instant, we have to wait forever for the Mazda to cool down.

my ac works good on highway trips too but when you take off kinda fast from a stop or accelerate going down the highway i have read on here somewhere...not sure if its a fact or not but have seen that in 4 cylinders when you get wot that it actually turns the recirculating off or something...not exactly sure so dont mark my word but i know for a fact if you take off fast or get to wot driving down the highway its tends to heat up a bit while driving...but as far as my car goes...thermostat has stuck a couple of times but have had good luck the last 3 weeks w/out it sticking...dealers just suck sometimes i might add..they didnt do anything i told them to...oh well a bit off topic but it goes along w/the ac...lets just say im satisfied by the time i get home after my drive from work on how well off i feel in the car so thats all i really care bout

Mine sucks. When it decides to work it works fairly well and gets the job done. The problem is that many times and out of nowhere it will stop working regardless of the settings and just blast out hot air. That is super annoying. The car is only 4 months old too.

For the a/c to perform well on really hot days you HAVE to have it on recirc. It makes a huge difference in the cooling ability. When it's on recirc, there is still some fresh air coming into the cabin, so you can leave it there all the time if you like. You won't suffocate. ;)

This thread is funny, I have zero problems with the a/c in my P5. It gets pretty hot here in the DC area too. If you're having problems and your car is under warranty, have it looked at.

Doesn't get real cool right away and with 5 men in the car it takes a little longer but it's all right.

I know recirculating works better, but especially when driving at higher speeds I like having it come from outside since the volume is greater. Then once the air is cool enough all around then I'll switch to recirculate.

A/C Sucks!!!!!! It takes FOREVER to make it comfortable with the windows down..... Focus A/C 10 X's better!!!! And the Lancer, Civic etc. even better than Focus.... our A/C blows..... hot air that is...
