How do you make eyelids stick

Hi everyone, I bought a set of eyelids off eBay seller Racing Raven but haven't been able to get them to adhere very well.

One side (right hand) seems to be about 80% stuck, but the left hand side stays on for a little more than 24 hours and falls on the ground, despite covering every inch with 3M double sided automotive tape.

Is there a trick to this? Racing Raven haven't responded to my question yet and I thought this is probably the most knowledge place anyway.

Any help gratefully accepted, or they go in the trash!

Cheers

John

My best sugestion is to remove all the two-side tape and residue. Clean the eyelids and the headlights with rubbing alcohol. Use one cloth damp and one cloth dry and alternate wipe/dry. That way you avoid any damage to the headlights or eyelids. Then re-apply two-side tape and install. Good luck, and welcome to the forums.

Thanks for that hat1018.

I think I did the clean part correctly - used an alcohol wipe to clean both the headlight lenses before applying the eyelids.

I also see 3M do a VHB (Very High Bond) double sided tape. Anyone else used this with any success.

This is my wife's car and she is saying ditch the things anyway.

Might post a pic of it tomorrow.

Thanks

It's either the tape that you used, or alcohol was still on the lense...iv'e stuck mine on now for a good few months now and the best tape i've seemed to use for all double sided applications is a red tape you get at walmart that's in the painting section. Worked like a charm.
