How do you get rid of...

...the spots on the plastic cover that covers the gauges? I have spots some how on it and nothing will take them out. I have no idea how they get there. I got the car new and at one time, either window cleaner mist or Armorall mist got on it. I didn't make the mistake of armoralling the car again, it caused "blotches" in the vinyl because of the First Place vinyl/leather conditioner. I can only use that stuff for now on. Otherwise, it will look like ass! I finally got it out after a few applications of the dealer provided dildo my ass of a price on the First Place crap that it sells. It works great, but expensive as hell!

Any suggestions on getting spots off of the clear plastic piece?

I think your best bet would be to get a clear plastic reconditioner - should be able to find it at most auto parts stores.

It's a multi-step process, but yields great results. Shouldn't take very long.

And since the gauge cluster is VERY easy to remove (2 screws in the black fascia, then 3 screws holding the cluster), might as well remove it to clean it.

The clear gauge cover can be completely separated from the cluster very easily, making it easy to work on.

And you can buff up your headlights with the leftover product.

I have actually taken it apart to get to trim around instrument cluster. i was going to paint it, had it taped up and ready for paint, but then decided not to at the last minute. How do those spots occur, from mist of some kind? They seem to appear out of no where and I don't clean interior windows like I used to. I see them on other cars. It looks as if I sneezed on it. Not that bad! :D

i'll bet it was caused by armor all.. that's what did it to me on my last car.. never did get it off.. then again, i didn't try anything too drastic, just glass cleaner :)

good luck!
