how do you clean bugs off your car?

that's what i was thinking....just sounded like a weird idea. maybe i'll try that first and save myself a little money. there isn't a chance i'll damage the paint or anything if i rub too hard is there?

Cheapest way is Turtle wax bug and tar remover. Apply it, let it sit, and come back and wax off. It will remove old wax, but so will a clay bar. A really good wax should help keep the bugs from sticking badly and wash off with water or a detailer. But with some of you guys living in really really hot temps, I'd say no matter what wax you use they'll be baked on.

I spray it on for five minutes like it say while I get everything else ready at a coined pressure wash carwash..

What I like to use is simple green about 5 min before you wash the car soak the bugs with simple green. Works really well for cleaning rims too.

what all do people use to clean bug guts off your car? namely, off the hood. that's one bad thing about texas......
Pressure washer.

Try to get them off before they dry out!!

Honestly, heres what i do and its worked everytime. I had to find a good way after a trip from Orlando, FL to Billings, MT and having a gazillion bugs on my front bumper and hood.

1. Rinse affected area with water
2. Take a bucket and put Dawn dishsoap in it and fill with hot water
3. Using a soft cotton towel get wet.
4. Cover all the affected areas again generously with your towel and Dawn solution.
5. Using the towel and firmly scrub off the bugs.

Something about the dish soap that works for me. And everyone's already got that so i doesn't cost anything.
