How do i go about turboing my 1.8

:
1999 mazda protege es
So ive been looking around and trying to find information on turboing a 1.8. There is not very much i just need to know what all i need to do. Can anyone help me that knows anout the 1.8 or has done it before. Thanks!

Same as any other car.

Get a manifold, get turbo, plumb oil feed and return, manage your fuel and ignition, new intake and downpipe.

the 1.8 and 2.0 have the same cylinder head so you can use any of the manifolds and whatnot for the 2.0 on the 1.8

i just plan on running 5-8 psi i just wana do a lil lower while il learn how to tune using the ssafc that way theres less of a risk factor and i dont wana blow it up yet hehe does anybody have links to na ecu with ssafc maps?

1.8 is 9:1 compression...same as 2.0

For you yes. For the guy who posted that they have different compression no as hes from Russia. The compression in Europe is actually the same for the FP and FS, so hes wrong and hes right...

Fp pistons in an F's would net 9.7:1 if I recall correctly

FP pistons in an FS engine will bump the compression because the stroke is different.

any turbo kit for the 2.0 engine will work just fine with the 1.8. the only consideration would be to relocate the coil packs from above the exhaust manifold to some where else. the heat from the turbo manifold will not treat them kindly.

When I put my Turbo on I'm modifying the stock bracket to go where the lift hook is on the transmission side of the head (started with a 1.8l so running those coils)

i just cleaned my egr and when I went to start the car my clutch pedal went straight to the floor and didnt come back up but after I pulled it back up manually it feels like my clutch has lost pressure any ideas?
