How did your LSD break?

I have this fear that my LSD is gonna go, I don't really drive it super hard, but I cant really afford a new one right now.
Soooo...
If and When your LSD went out, how did it happen? How were you driving the car at the time? and what exactly in these LSD's breaks?
what can I do to aviod damage to my LSD?
I want to put new Tranny fluid in it next week, would somthing like Redline Shockproof gear oil work well to keep it from breaking? or is a good quality 75W90 like royal purple or redline work best?
about 2 yers. ago I was in first gear lo roll, goosed it was about to shift it to 2nd. felt like I missed a gear when acually lost all gears. got a revised one from the dealer nearly 900 bucks, had it welded on both sides, going strong now.

i destroyed mine launching off the start line at an autox. i thought it was my tires spinning but it sounded too metallic. had no power, tried all the gears, nothing. i knew immediately what it was from remembering all the stories on the forum.

i got a revision 3 or w/e mazda lsd from sam at crossover. i didnt weld it bc honestly i just didnt have the money at the time. its been holding fine now tho.

another thing to remember they tend to live a little longer when you don't boot them around corners too often, thats my input

mine broke just driving normal from a stop sign going to shift to second thought i missed it so i pulled it out to neutral and tried putting it back in and it would barely go 5mph at about 5k rpm had to limp back to MAM shop last year

my LSD snapped when i was making a left hand turn at like 15 mph. it can go anytime! at the time, i only had front motor mount. i replaced it with a welded one from ProtegeGarage.

I had one welded and installed in my car (I originally had an open diff since it's an MP3), mine snapped in about three or four weeks. I think I should only wait for a Quaiffe.

i dont understand what you mean by open diff? and how did your car break a welded lsd? i mean they are like freaking strong.

That was a little confusing so I just edited it to make sense. And yeah they are strong but not Alfredo strong.
