How did they build the MP3s?

2001 Mazda MP3 - Blue
I don't think we discussed this before...does anyone know how the MP3s were produced? What I mean is: did all the cars come down the assembly line in Hiroshima one after another and then come over on the boat for final assembly of mods in California or did Mazda build them a couple at a time?

Ok, it's late and the meds are wearing off...

#456/1500:(
still in the body shop over a month later!

Assembly line then finalized in the US. It would have been nice if they received special hands on attention like the Integra Type R. But those are factory hand built race cars and are quite a bit faster.:)

I realize that the MP3 wasn't hand-built (although the Racing Beat mods were not done on THE assembly line, but probably AN assembly line) - but what I meant to say was: for example if "Visax" in Harrisburg, PA owns #455 and I own #456 (bought in NY, but oddly currently in a body shop near Harrisburg) did they bump down the line back to back or were they on the line with say an silver LX and a black ES in between and pulled off later to be shipped to California for final mods? Both cars in the example were "born" on 2/22/01.

You can catch me on B103 (103.1) on Long Island...you won't pick it up in Rockland County because of Jukebox Radio up there. Saturdays 3-6pm and Sunday 8-2pm.

Jukebox Radio is a station on 103.1 out of Fort Lee, NJ that plays Frank Sinatra and big band stuff. Not us.

B103 (my station) plays mostly 60s and 70s music.
