how cheap for a mp3?/what car should I get for 7k

im not tryin to insult anyone here. but I THINK i have seen mp3s sell for 10k, so i figured it was worth asking.

I am looking into getting a second car and my max price is 7000...

Now I need a car to drive in the winter, so my lowered MSP with 18s can sit in the garage and rest since im rackin a lot of miles on it during the sunny months, I also need to be able to tow the 450lb atv, and i would like to enjoy the car enuogh to maybe drive it back and forth to work (1 hour commute) even in sunny months....

So my question was................is it possible to find a mp3 for 7k? im guessing not....

And if not, and you so choose, you can move this to off topic or something, and I would also like your input as to what cars I should look into.

Right now im looking at like a 98-99 2.5rs which seem to go for 7-9k.....or maybe a 98ish legacy gt ltd......

initially I was gonna get a pickup (good in winter and easy for atv moving) but after more thought I decided that I need something i would enjoy driving, so that I could drive it back and forth to work as much as possible thus keeping miles on my msp a little lower, whereas with a truck I would probably only want to drive that 2 hours a day when i absolutely had to. Thus im in the car realm with the potential for a SUV (96-98 explorers seem to go for 6-8k with high miles)

at any rate, your help is appreciated.....

i really doubt it, unless it was damaged and had serious mileage. Get a use subby if you live in a snowy area.

well that was kinda my thing, with a mp3, i would love it so mucht hat I could use it as a commuter in the summer too

why Not a used 94 Integra GS-R 5-spd you can find some around for 6-8K which is not bad. It is a good commuter car, and has some ball's to it 2, not only that" it probably get's good gas mileage 2, since gas Prices are going (Sky high).

any GSR is not going for 6-8k..try like 14-20k. Dealerships and pre-owned centers have blown those prices out of reality for GS-R's and Civics. Trust me, I was looking to get one before I bought the protege. And thats with 100k+ on the clock.

If you are looking for a everyday driver, You should look into a Lincoln MkvIII 93-96. They are a pimpin car to drive and they have 280hp and get good gas mileage. On my 93 that I had I got 27 mpg on a trip upstate and its got good around town mileage. those cars have all of the bells and wistles as well. You deffinitly can find a very clean one for 7g's. I have had 2 of them, a 87 LSC MkvII and a 93 MkvIII. Loved them both-very nice ride with the air ride suspension.
Just my 2 cents

I think it's possible to get one for under 10k. Maybe around 8k. It all depends on your location and how badly the seller wants to sell it.

I saw a yellow MP3 earlier in the year go for 8-9000 with low miles. He even posted on here too, have to search to find it.

What the hell, some people paid 3 grand over sticker for an MP3! Thats more than a SRT-4!! This car is worth more to bash with a bat than to sell.
Sorry, just pissed that they have ZERO resale.

jeep wrangler is a good idea, but im really tall, so I think I will have "fitment issues" in one of those.

Otherwise a great idea, fun in the summer, 4wd for the winter, ability to tow, pretty cheap too I believe......anyone know how a wrangler's reliability is from like '95 on with high miles?

MP3 is 10K at trade in value.
No LSD makes for bad winter driving.

Get a 97 626

I let my MP3 go for $12,500. And I consider that to be a little low. I only let it go for that low because I was flying to Arizona to pick up my S2000 that weekend. So I just wanted to get rid of it. I still owed about $13,400 when I sold it. Right about now, you could probably find an MP3 for $11,000 or less with 20k to 40K miles on it. I wouldn't pay anymore than that for one though. THe best place to look is autotrader.com. I have seen some go as low as $9,500.

yea that sucks serious balls they can go for that low,

if i was you id get a talon tsi or eclipse GST/GSX great cars or even a mr2 turbo[hard to work on tho]

not to get off topic, but are you out of your mind. A 94 integra GS-R does not, ( I REPEAT) Does not run anywhere from 14-20K. If you want" you can even go to Kbb.com and go under (private party value)" and click every option there is, and even put the condition as (excellent) and it will only bring the car to $5,500. Plus i'm sure people don't drive just 15,000miles a year. So you take the average normal mileage of a car and Multiply it by 9yrs. 1994-2003 comes to a total of 135,000miles. for a car to be in the range of 14-20K it would have to be a 2001 Integra Type-R or a 2001 Honda Prelude Type-SH. ;)

(stupid)

I agree,.....only the Type R's go for near $20K with mileage approaching 100K miles.

Disclaimer: I'm kidding when saying Tritonheat is stupid,.........well, maybe not. :D J/K
