How can I stop creep and cut?

I searched threads and found very little information. I've been catless and just added a 3.5 ETS as it got cold, and now I am getting cut from creep... but it is inconsistent. Either it sits at 16 or it creeps as high as it can get (over 20) before it cuts.

Solutions: Someone mentioned the wastegate valve could be bumping my downpipe and not opening fully. I would map clamp but I don't wanna boost to like 25 pounds or sit on anything higher than like 18psi. I can't use a boost controller to turn the boost down right? What if it's not a downpipe issue, do I need to modify the wastegate?

You can help alleviate some creep issues by porting the wastegate passage to allow the exhaust an easier path around the turbine. Pay close attention to the passage leading into the wastegate port, don't remove too much or you'll have issues sealing.

This just smells like money and headache to me. I've got the corksport downpipe with the divorced wastegate design... could this be to blame? No easier ways to fix this huh??

I feel like I'm the only one with this problem. Anyone else? I feel like everyone getting big boost "by accident" is just installing a map clamp and running as much boost as the turbo can push

im in the exact same situation as you lestat... I installed full CS TBE and immediately after the stock map would cut EVERY time when WOT in 3rd or higher... so I bought the AP... Now I because of my mods I can only run TBE/otherwise stock maps which somewhat alleviates the issue.. Until it gets cold outside. Before winter I could WOT and boost cut was maybe 1 in 6.. Now that its cold its everytime and my DH shows it trying to hold 22.19 PSI... My current plan is to get the CPE SRI so I can run the tmic map... If that doesn't work then its fuel pump internals.. If that doesn't work the DP is coming out.... Oh and another thing.. since installing my DP my turbo leaks a tiny bit of oil so Im prolly gonna try switching to something a little heavier.

I would cut occasionally in 5th and 6th gear with downpipe. It got cold at the same time as I bought my 3.5 ETS and now less than half the time it will sit and hold at 16psi and it is fantastic. But more than half of the time, I got right up to 20sih and cuts. I've got a turbo inlet on the way, but the next mod if def cdfp, but probably gonna me around March by the time I get to that :(

Let me know if anything helps!!

As for the porting, damn, I didn't even trust myself to go do the downpipe install myself (which is good cause the shop told me it was an awful experience and they never wanna see me again, partly cause they had to buy me a new O2 sensor ;)). There has to be other solutions and I can't be one of the only people having this issue. Thinking about just going back to factory downpipe(dunno)

if you have a corksport dp check the flange on the dp the flapper was hitting the flange thus not allowing the wastegate to open fully, i had to grind down the flange, are you on stock turbo? if you are no need to port the wastegate.

I myself have the inlet installed so maybe that is one of the issues.. Ordered CP-E SRI yesterday, so once that gets put on I'll be able to run the SRI/TMIC/TBE map and not just the TBE map.. Hopefully that gets me somewhere. This cold weather is killing me.

Yeah, stock turbo. Now are you talking about just taking off some of the inside the divorced wastegate pipe or are you taking about removing the piece of metal that sticks out and separates the divorced wastegate pipe?

I have the first version of the corksport downpipe and have heard issues of the welds cracking. If I'm taking it off, would it be a smarter move to swap it with a turboxs or cp-e or something???

im having bad cut now that its cold. Only in 5th and 6th and a slight studder in 4th. Ive got a CS TBE and Cobb sri, waiting to get the AP soon and hopefully that will help a little.

leave the wastegate alone, mine dp was also the first version of corksport dp but im talking about the flange on the dp, when i took my turbo out for porting we lined the dp and the turbo with just on bolt and we noticed that the flapper was hitting the flange on the dp so the flapper wasnt able to open fully re-routing the air back into the turbine thus causing suddenly boost creep.leave your stock turbo alone ,not the problem.
