all you have to do is come to my house tonight and take off my god damn oil filter. i cant do it. ive tried everything except a blow torch and just cant do it. ive wasted half the day hackin at this piece of s***. and im tired and cut up now. so as long as you get off the filter tonight without damaging the car what-so-ever, i will hand you a lovely $20 bill.

tried it. first time it only widened the hole and the second time it bent the screwdriver. third time all seemed well and then the screw driver just slipped and i could feel it tear up the insides of the filter. ive already spent 3 hours and $20 in tools today and i just dont care anymore. i wanna take a shower and eat. and watch someone else take off my filter. ive been changin my own oil for years and have never had this much of a problem.

Take that $20, and go buy some huge-as pliers. That's what I had to do one time.
i have the pliers. no luck. all it did was crush the oil filter. it wont grip it well enough to turn it.

i have everytool that autozone/oriellys/walmart sells. and none of them get this thing off. maybe if i had the msp on a rack where i could really get in there it would be easier, but i cant drive it anywhere without any oil.

sounds like it possibly got it cross-threaded. You might have to tow it to a dealer just in case the oil-filter threaded mount is messed up.

Course it could be the seal is really stuck to the engine. In which case you might try some penetrating oil or if you can squeeze a razor blade between the filter and the block maybe you could at least lessen the grip it has on the block. Just be sure to clean the block off really well, of all the old gasket/o-ring material before you put the new one on. Also don't forget to put a little fresh oil on the new seal.

Wait, how big are they? Mine are HUGE! Are they big enough to open around the filter? If so, try gripping the base of the filter.

James.......wtf, show some pics of the filter. That filter looks like it had been shot to death, holes all over that mutha. Its funny, i just came over and jabbed it a couple times and twisted it off.......took that rookie 3 days. n00b!
