Horn panic alarm went off in middle of night while car parked

hey everyone early this morning my 08 cx9 panic alarm started going off for no reason. it was raining at the time i ran downstairs and hit the unlock button on the smart card to turn it off and it would turn off but then come back on 10-20 seconds later.. I had to go out to car and get in and leave keys in car so it would stop going off. i have it parked at work today all locked up and it isnt doing it now. i am just waiting for the neighbours to come by the house to kick my butt tonight for the alarm going off so many times.


Any ideas what would have caused this?? Is there a way for me to disable the panic alarm horn (other than just pulling the horn fuse)

Hopefully by this time you brought your car to a Mazda service to have that fixed.
I had the same issue with my cx-9 2008 and they have repaired that last year for free. Apparentely wires inthe steering wheel get tangled with turns (they were not suppose to do that!!) and the alarm goes off for no reason. With us happened when we were on a overseas trip... figure out my neighbors. The constant honk sound going on like a head over the honk after a car crash. Went off untill the battery died. At least was during the day.

Hi, my CX9 is doing the same thing. I lock it and go inside and then the alarm goes off by itself. It even locked itself the other day. When you had your car taken care of last year, was this problem under a recall? Mine is out of warranty and I can't afford the high labor costs. Any suggestions?
