Honest opinions please....

msp or something else then an is....an is is an upgraded corolla with a 6 cyl....same reason why i laugh at my mom for buying an ES300..rather then just an upgraded camry...coulda pocketed the 5+ grand. or find an is300 used..manual..drop a TT supra front clip in it. :D

reason why i'm going with the msp..it's one of the better "bang for the buck" cars that's out there...it's cheap...comparing a luxury car to an entry level car (protoge) is like apples to oranges...hence msp is a nice pimped out kind of orange.

if you plan on getting the is and modding it dont do it, or at least get auto. some kid in my town has an is and he got it in stick, and he put a turbo on it and he blew the tranny the first day, he switched over to auto, and he hasent had a problem yet. something about the auto being stronger.

two different type of cars in my opinion. Can't really compare the two. I'd go with the 300 though....but I don't have the money. Then again, if you really want a GREAT handling car with a little (dare I say it ) Zoom Zoom, then the MSP is the one to get. But, if your all about comfort and luxery, then the choice is obvious.

Just because something is more expensive, doesnt mean you will like it more. Granted a Lexus is better, which one do you think you would have more fun with? Here are some questions to ask yourself:

1. How many people in my area has an IS300?

If you see alot of them in your area, then you are going to be just like any other Joe, unless you mod it.

2. Do I really want to spend every cent I earn on a car?

Dont buy an expensive car unless you make enough money that you can live comfortably.

Pay close attention to question 2. It would suck to have to live in your car to get buy every month. :D

who gets a car just because everyone esle doesnt have it? why not just be yourself and get a car you like instead of not getting a car because someone else has it.

To each his own. I would NEVER buy a Honda Civic, since EVERYONE and their dog has one. There are only about 10 P5s in my area, and at least 10,000 Honda Civics. LOL :D

OMG LMFAO..."...since EVERYONE and their dog has one"

that has to be the funniest thing i heard today hahaha

WOW...awesome feedback from every angle. just when everyone is saying go with the 300, theres a completely new and different response replied. Love the opinions all around. Obviously I have the option of getting either one but its just deciding which one.

im not gonna get any other car no matter how hot the 350z is now and i cant wait next year for any new car like the rx-8. So it came down to those two...believe me ive listed all the pros and cons for each car and no matter how hard ive tried to make a definitive decision, i just cant, since each car has its own unique benefit as to owning them....which is why this thread is helping me out alot :D

BTW, i dont plan on adding any mods to the engine whichever car i get.....ive devoted most of my cash to myother car which im laying down the cash on mods, body kit, the whole 9, etc. etc.

The MSP is the overall class leader...overall best in its price range and market segment.

The IS300 is a great car...a great platform for luxury performance.

The EVO is going to cost a lot especially with the "hottest car to hit US shores markup"...but if I had the dough I wouldn't hesitate to grab it!

Comes down to what you REALLY want and how much of that you can afford.

If I had to choose one sport compact on the market = MSP

If I had to choose an expensive performance import = EVO

If I had to choose a luxury/performance ride = Infiniti G35 Coupe

If I become wealthy someday, I will have a whole stable of Mazda's ;)

If you have another car you want to trick out, I say go with the IS300 it has power, luxury and style :) Why get just a sports sedan, when you have a real sports car in the making, get something to balance that sports side (but that can still go fast) so I stay the IS300 defentily now.

heres your solution

ok this is easy look the is300 IS going to be redesigned its gonna be the is430 or something like that and its going to kill!! its gonna have around 300hp but that is in 2 years like you said my best advice is buy the msp for this 2 years cause its simply a great car at a great price and the new colors are going to bring alot of attention and after the 2 years end and the new IS300 comes around give yours in trade in or sell it and pull the new is300 out .... thats what i would do

thats one of the things that i was debating on....whether it was wise to get an IS300 now when some 2 years later it will be up for a redesign. I could always go with getting an IS300 now and then leasing it out for the normal 3 years and then trading it in for the new one.

on the flip side, it feels funny getting a msp now and then knowing other colors and a slightly different look to it in mid '03. i'm inclined to go with the orange MSP since the black wouldnt really make the MSP standout as it truly was meant to be shown. So id go with the orange but my feeling with that color is either a love/hate thing. I wont be able to really determine the how much i like it in orange until i actually see it in person and that wont happen if NO ONE actually knows (including mazda dealers) when they will hit the market (other than places like florida and NJ) hehe :p

Although I'm getting black, I can say that I do like the orange. It really is a cool paint job but it's just not something I could deal with on a daily basis. If I were a high-roller and could afford to have an MSP as a weekend car, I would absolutely go for the orange. As far as the IS goes, if I had the means, I would absolutely get one over the MSP. I love those cars and although a little underpowered, there's nothing a little modding can't fix. They drive like a dream. I would lease the IS and then upgrade when the redesign comes out. Or if you're not into leases, get the orange MSP and sell it when the new IS comes out. That way you can avoid getting tired of the orange because you'll be getting rid of it within a couple years anyway.

I would go with the IS-300 personally. Tight car, but too expensive for me. If you can stick out get the MSP.
