honda s2000 opinions

i think forced induction on a motor with a compression ratio of 11:1 is just asking for problems. but the people who really do them up put low compression pistions and tune vtec with the turbo and even though thats alot of work, the cars a monster after that.

some guy in florida is swaping out the engine for a 2jz engine and tranny with a single turbo kit for like 10 grand. its sick!

i think 6 psi on a supercharger with stock internals would be okay, he says he has no knocking or anything and it runs perfect? idk tho

6pounds is just about right for a supercharger. and there should not be knocking with that set up. as long as u have supporting mods as well

well comptech did the install and tune, so im pretty sure they would make it engine safe, you would think at least... haha

yea youll be fine at 6psi on a blower...11:1 compression or not he is not the first to put a supercharger on an s2k lol

I drove an AP1 S2K. They're nice to drive and handles good. I'm just use to torque so the S2K felt slow. But once you get it in the rpms, it's pretty quick. The AP2 should be a little better. I heard from a lot of S2K guys that n/a mods are worthless since you spend so much and don't gain much. So you either have to turbo or supercharge them.

I ran a 95 del sol vtec with jackson racing supercharger running 7 lbs of boost off idle for over 200k with nary a single engine problem. Change the oil and plugs once in a while. Ran like a top. Clean as a whistle when I sold her, and the new owner is still running that setup @ over 300k right now.

the video of that guy is on youtube!! its insane! he even does it to rx7s i guess too. but i would love to get a s2000 one day they are one of the nicest tuner cars out ther imo.

s2000 has potential for sure. Just have to be aware of the small space in the car and severe lack of luggage space. Strictly a toy car for weekend play or just simple commute to/from work without stopping for any shopping trips. Personally I think they could have done better with the design, I would have traded the del sol in for the s2000 if it had just a bit more room. The Del sol had issues of it's own, but was far more practical for daily use with it's gargantuan trunk.

I lust over s2000s all day. Too bad they're so friggin expensive still...

may possibly be my next car though. What color is the car we're talking about? And someone said it's hardtop? If your buddy is going to pass on it, pm me the guys info! :D

update: i guess the s2000 also has a bored out fuel rail with bigger injectors and the comptech fuel pump as well

heres the exact car

it has a carbon fiber trunk as well, i guess they only made that for a couple months and dont make it anymore? idk.. its a sick car and extremely fast, i rode in it today, i think the my mans is gonna buy it so im pumped...

i saw the engine bay today too, EXTRMELY clean and well kept, everythings polished and comptech installed a catch can and a huuge bov valve, if i get a pic of the bay ill post it up, but the itnerior is mint as well, the guy kept such good care of this car, my buddys getting it for such a steal

why would "gargantuan" and "del sol" be anywhere remotely near each other?
