Honda arrogance

Recently, a member of ProbeTalk has been fired from his job as per request of Honda Motor Co. Why would they do this, you ask? Honda didn't like the fact that the said member, Chris, posted pictures from the Honda plant in Liberty, Ohio.

Whilst he was on the tour there, he signed nothing in the ways of a confidentiality agreement, or instructed to keep what he saw private.

Anyone say .. cry babies.... if something is so confidential the public nor any contractors should be allowed to see it. Never had any respect for honda and I still don't...

Go vtec'in all you want.... I will just burn you from the line.....

It is just as disgusting as when I read it this morning... :-(

HoMoCo... Sucks.

That's a very bad situation for this Chris fellow. My only question is why he doesn't want to fight it as this seems like a perfect example of the little guy getting unjustly squashed by the corporate giants. I'd guarantee that he probably could get free representation even just so the lawyer can get publicity too. :)

Not everyone wants to create a show. Even if it's not right, some people will jsut take it with a grain of salt and move on. Sometiems it's better that way then to go through all this hassle of trying to take some big guys like Honda.

I totally understand his point but oyu have to think fighting these big guys takes alot of energy and time. It's mostly who ever has more money in the end.... Also your personal life becomes public... I wouldn't want that at all.....

I agree. There is a point where you say it's not worth it.

As an employee of a potential contractor, one would assume that a Confidentiality Agreement was signed by HoMoCo and the fence company. Technically, isn't it the the fence company's responsibility to let their employee know the terms of the agreement? If there was no agreement in place, then it's HoMoCo's liability. Of course, I am just basing this on my limited knowledge of the situation.

there are some awesome hondas running the streets....this case has really nothing to do with the cars...but the "big cheeses" that decided he exposed too much about the new accord....by the way an mp3 "burns" a vtec honda "from the line"?

Wow, i have seen this info at many, many, forums now. This tuff grows and grows and i guarantee that it is on Honda's radar now. At www.mx6.com they had all the contact info (i think it was pasted directly from www.probetalk.com) and supposedly people were calling about it...

Again, I don't see what the issue is. I work for a consulting company and have confidentiality agreements with Procter & Gamble, Mazda USA, Harley-Davidson, etc. If I leaked confidential product information to the public, I would get fired and my company would not be in good standing with the client.

This has nothing to do with arrogance. It has everything to do with the basics of business. It's just that simple.

But this guy was never advised that any info was not to be released, furthermore, the info that was leaked was already common knowledge to the point that it was already published by numerous different sources. It is not like this guy was selling secrets to a competitor or something, nor does he have some sort of high standing in his field of business. The real issue for him is that it looks like someone else from probetalk (an enemy - duh) ratted him out and honda felt like doing something about it.

Normally i don't think they would have even noticed...
