I think it came out well. I used a universal kit. It came with everything...Reserver, motor, lines, wire, copper sprayers, HUGE metal momentary switch(which I didn't use). Install was easy AFTER I moved it down off the firewall. I forgot about the siphon effect, the water just poured out..lol oops. SO then I moved it down below the airbox, now it's lower and it works great. You can see the black rubber lines on top of the grill with the copper sprayers pointing down.

The second pic is the radio shack black momentary button I used. I think it looks good. What do you guys think?

Shouldve used Co2, much more effective and not that much harder to make.

I forgot to mention it was a total of 40 bucks. I had no job at the time and a house and baby to pay for :D

I spent around 35-40$ for mine also.....however it's 5 bucks to fill the bottle.

Very cool. That's not too bad at all....

You saying the sprayer was also only 35/40 bucks? What did you install?

u guys should maybe write a how-to. let's not keep the secret all to your self now ;). But good job dude.

do you have to hold the button down? Just wondering if it would be better to have it spray the whole time you are racing like in a 1/4 mi?

I just used a 20 0z. paintball gun tank,
made a valve work for a water/garden hose,
and ran steel line in front of the intercooler with 12 slits in it,
I had to play with the slit design to make it work and spray right though.....

Performance???? Ha..... 15.0's at 8psi, next run I used the Co2 sprayer at 8psi and ran 14.6's w/ virtually the same 60' time.

Beat that for 40bucks!!!

YuYuRena - Yea maybe I will write a how-to....possibly tomorrow, I may have time after I wax her with some Mcguires(sp)

KzA - I want to napa and asked for a universal kit, it's part number 66-01. Big blue box. I think it was 43 plus tax and with my AAA card I got 10% off. The radio shack button was about $1.90.

jaymode - I do have to hold the button down. I went back and forth about that and I decided monmentary was the way to go. That can be changed easy.

lamp3 - I haven't done a real good test, it's prolly marginal at best. It's just for when you really snot on the car.....I will spray it and the IC SHOULD be cooler and be closer to when you just start out driving.

Yea ... I need to mess with my sprayers, they are OK. I tried to aim one high and one low to cover the whole IC. I have done a small amount of looking for nice brass sprayers...nothing found yet.

sounds awesome guys wish i would get my car back so i could continue the modding lol.. geezus.. drivin me crazy

dude don;t snot on the car, what'd it ever do to you? ;) On the same note caught my dog taking a piss on one of my wheels the other day....bout drop kicked him.

LOL :D , Yea I'm nice to it. Unless it's late and I'm coming home from soccer late. Back roads around here are sick. I haven't sneezed inside of it yet.:D

It funny after I read the specs on the WRX the other day I had the same idea. Glad someone is trying it. The only concern I had was the water vapor getting sucked into the intake. So I had decided that I would wait for that upgrade until after the CAI. Congrats guys and keep us up to date on how its working and how long the H20 lasts for :)

Wanna go really crazy? Buy a nitrous kit, and use it for CO2 instead. Costs quite a bit more, but I bet you would get wicked coverage. Also you'd have a larger bottle, and the ability to put in a contact switch that only engaged the sprayer at full throttle.

Hot Damn. I think I'll just do that.

Thanks for the stellar idea black.

Justin

P.S.: Be very careful where you put that bottle, however big it is. If you (god forbid) get into an accident, if that tank valve gets broken you have a rocket on your hands (they go through cars, people, even brick walls if they are big enough).

If you sprayed nitrous in front of the intercooler you would get the cooling affect through the intercooler plus the intake is practically right behind the intercooler so you would also get a big jump in power !!!!

No I don't recomend it........

only engaged the sprayer at full throttle.

Someone posted a site about how this wasn't the best time to cool the IC. It think it would have to spray BEFORE you hit WOT....that way you cool air AS your hitting WOT...
