Heya people, i am making my own pedals, and need some input on how to finish them.

heres a pic:

they are 1/4 inch thick aluminum, and they are "clamp on" by tightening the screws.

so anywho.. How should i finish then? rubber dots? rubber lines? textured surface?

they match my voodoo knob really well as is, but i would like some more grip on them.

thoughts? comments?

Just do lines of texture like:
---------
-xxxxx-
---------
-xxxxx-
---------
-xxxxx-
---------
you get the idea

Might want to try some grip tape from a skate shop. Cut into whatever design you want, the combos are endless. Or some of that no-slip-floor-grip stuf you find on some stairways. Again easily cut.
Just a thought.

grip tape would be tight with like some kinda metalic studs/screw-heards on the outline of the grip tape design. like if the grip tape is black or something.

i thought about grip tape. maybe ill head over to the skateshop or hardware store and pick up some.

i have these clear rubberish dot stickers that are used for the bottom of furniture, also, but i dont think clear looks very good, and im sure they will turn yellow after use. so i scratched that idea.

i was thinking also of putting M P 5 with 1 letter on each of the pedals, but doing it in photoshop it didnt look very good.

thx for the compliments,

ahahaha thanks eggynatey, but i think i want to keep it simple with just black :)

driving with them is a bit weird, since i just left the rubber covers on and just covered them, so the pedal is 1/4" closer, and stick out about 2 cm below the stock pedals. takes some getting used to.

yeah, i should try that and see how it feels. hope it fits fine, since i designed the pedals with keeping the rubber.

oh hrm... id do it anyways jsut to try if it dont work. least ur reaction time will be 1/4 inch quicker LOL j/k

hahaha

i just did it, and took it for a spin. definatly improved taking them out. feels more normal.

i also put in some shorter bolts for the clutch pedal so now when it hits the floor it hits the back of the pedal and not the 2 bolts, so that feeling it back more to normal.

the entra inch is still weird, but hopefully ill get used to it.
