Home Depot Grill Mod (Special Edition)

okay, a couple of questions for pimpprotege69. I'd PM you but this may help others.

1. I found gutter guards at Home Depot but I was under the impression that you said it was in an aisle past the gutter guards. What department did you actually find this in and is it or is it not gutter guards?

2. If I do ever find this stuff, did you put it over the stock grill?? I'm new to this car stuff, but I thought you removed the stock grill and replaced it with the mesh? Then I saw posts about placing it over the emblem and such, so now I'm lost.

Any and all help will be much appreciated.

Looks like he removed the bottom grill but he kept the top grill in place and placed the mesh over it. The reason I say that is the top grill looks like the behind it is darker than the botton grill in this pic

i went looking for this material too, the gutter guards that i found, i didnt like and they were already curved........so then i thought and i realized what i wanted, the wire mesh that placed underneath tiles, thats what i wanted, and i was thinking of buying that and giving it a clear coat to give it a bit of a shine and also to rust proof it, if it already isnt'. what i was planning on doing was removing both top and bottom grilles and placing teh mesh on top of the existing stock grilles and using a very thin aluminium wire to hold it in place, but now my problem is, that i can't get the bottom grille off!!!!

I left the top grill on, to keep the emblem. Removed the bottom grill completely. Bottom grill just pops off.

i just did my bottom grill.. i painted it gunmetal to match my rims.... looks pretty good so far...
i have a question... where did you buy that rod for the top grill... i bought some kind of plastic pipe that i will cut a hole so i can put the grill ... but yours looks better... was it part of the stock grill?

There small steel galvinized rods. Found them at home depot. They are bendable and strong.
