i worked for a law firm when i went to undergrad school and i got great bonus every year and a profit sharring check, too. was well over 1K each year....have not had that the past couple years......guess i will have to wait for my tax returns????

i work for family and haven't even gotten my regular paycheck in 2 months b.c everytime i have to give my hours my boss is out of town on vacation or a business trip. so when i get paid at the end of the month it will be for 10 weeks and wont even break the $600 mark b4 taxes. so i would say an x-mas bonus is definantly out of the question for me ....

Im in Aus, everyone gets a Christmas bonus, mate, and we have a BBQ and beer provided on the last day as our break up, play cricket etc on work time...
I got about $700 after tax, I've been here for about 3 years.

I'm a project engineer, So at the end of year if my projects were completed early and under budget, I get a percentage of the project profits. My bonus was $5392.04 after taxes.
This was the best year i've ever had. I'm putting $3000 in the savings and the rest I'm taking my family (wife and daughter) on a nice vacation in August 05'. Just not sure where yet.

That's pretty bad of your boss to give him self a bonus and not the employees! I hope you get something from the company.

the thing about the company I work for is that we are "self governed". The people in charge are the "board of directors". They are self elected and choose who the president of our company is. He in turn hires staff members for various positions.

Whenever raises or financial decisions are made he has to go to the board of directors (un-paid members) and they vote on everything. Apparently he told them we didn't have the funds after making "critical upgrades". (my upgrades consisted of Adobe Acrobat 6.0)... He felt that himself and the vice-president (our washington lobbiest) would just take what little is left over....

Now I understand that I make pretty good money for the amouont of work I do but I litteraly spend almost 45% of my pay each month just on health insurance for my wife and I. Which means the other 55% (post-tax) has to pay for everything else in my life, house, cars, bills, food, etc. I really depend on this bonus to get some bills paid off.

I think I'm going to be quitting right after I take all of my vacation.... Just before I ship them back their office computers... c:/ format

well my boss is going to give everyone $33 for the christmas party at a bar. i do hvac and i made him almost $300,000 in service and replacment units and i get $33 to drink at a bar he has 12 other tech in the company wilson

for my bonus we get a pint of ice cream and a half gallon of eggnog, or gallon of milk (mind you they make the ice cream on premisis), im working xmas eve till 12:30a, xmas day 1-5 (family is in CT, im in MA), and i work new years eve till 12:30.
