Holes under MP3 spoiler?

Section 8

Hey guys, I know a few of you have taken off the stock MP3 rear spoiler. I was wonder what it looked liked under there. From what I can make out, it looks like there are two holes under the left and right "legs" for the screws that hold the wing to the trunk lid. It also looks like the wire for the brake light comes up through the center "leg" of the wing...is this the way it is? How many holes are there total on the trunk lid and where exactly are they? Also, the black foamy looking stuff, is it sticky or does it just help seal the spoiler to the trunk? Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer some of my questions.

Shawn

There are 6 holes. 2 on the left, 2 on the right, and 2 in the middle. The wire for the light does come through the middle, I just cut mine when I took it off. The black stuff is very sticky and the wing is hard to get off. It took a guy holding the trunk lid down on each side and a guy yanking the spoiler to get mine off.

Thanks for the response, that is exactly the info I needed. I noticed that you replaced your spoiler with an aftermarket one, I plan to do the same thing, my question to you is: did you get the stock holes filled in? If so, how did you do it? It looks like the outside holes (the ones closest to the sides of the car) are outside of the weatherstripping so water won't be a problem if I left the holes there. I'm just worried about the two holes in the middle, how did you prevent water from leaking into your trunk? Thanks for all your help!

i don't think NC is lying about the mods on his mp3, ive seen it zoom by so the exterior mods are true, plus it was loud as hell so im guessing that the engine work is there also. :D

NC does in fact have all of the engine mods that he's listed...some of you newer guys may not remeber but he was the first on the boards to try out a lot of the mods out there. As far as I know, he was the first to get the intake/exhaust cams, flywheel, header, and clutch. He provided the board with a lot of really great info that help us to understand our cars a lot better.

yea, NC was the first person to try out the mods, even made a header from a probe one. pretty soon we'll have pictures of his car, along with some video if my friend ever gets back down here.

Hey NC how much were all those mods and did it give you a big boost in power? Cuz' I'm in need of more power I want to smoke the new Mazda Speeds hehe...

The holes are being taken care of now. My car is actually in the shop getting the holes filled in, the grill painted, and my windows tinted. I just put some tape over the holes to keep the water out until I could get them filled in.

Yes I have all those mods. Search for a post called "~200 in two weeks?" in the performance section for info on the mods and power.

I will take pics as soon as my CF hood gets in.
