on ebay i found a legit HKS seller.. and it is the HKS SUPER SQV4 UNIVERSAL BLOW OFF VALVE KIT (P/N: 71008-AK001).. is it a bad idea to buy a bov that is universal? it says that it will fit my car, but doesnt the v4 come with a non adjustable spring? and i want to vent the bov.. is this what i want? any help or advice of where to get something better would be much appreciated.. i have looked around and come up with little to nothing..

You do realize the legit hks bov retails for ~$200 right? Something about the patent ran out and now china is flooding the market with "real" hks bov's for way cheaper. And all Bov's are universal bpv's aren't

nobody mentioned anything about BPV's......

Okay changing it a little.. i found on ebay a black HKS universal BOV SSQ v3... is the V3 and V4 much different? and i really want to know if it is a bad idea to buy a universal one..

your best bet if you want a good deal on a bov is to look for a used one around different forums, your local area or even craigslist. Ebay is too much of a gamble, however I did have a friend with a boosted p5 that ran an ebay HKS for a long time with no issues, no boost leaks, no failing diaphragm or anything.

WAIT!! so that means if i buy a greddy type s that corksport says is for the mazdaspeed3 it would still fit my car? i had no clue all BOV are universal..

all bov's are not universal, some have flanges specific to a certain car.........or do they use adapters?

well that makes my search soo much easier! i appreciate all the help from you guys! i think i am going to try the ebay one, its only a little over $100 dollars.. and if it is crap then ill search for something better.. but ill take the risk!

Just get the type s/ type rs. Same quality but 20-35 bucks. I've had 2 only issue I've ever had is the oring rip which is a $2 5 minute fix.

You can also get a $20 adapter to hook it up to where your stock bpv goes I used one on my 323 when I run a bov

no it doesn't matter. A bov is a bov, as long as you can find a matching flange for whatever bov you get, you can use it.
