I was about to order a HKS racing suction intake and on my internet research I found this:
-the HKS racins suction filter (yellow) is a 'wet' oil-based filter.
-HKS offers 2 filters: a dry 3-layer filter (SMF Super Mega Flow in green color) and the wet 2-layer filter (yellow suction reloaded). If your vehicle is in a high dust area, HKS recommends using dry 3-layer elements (http://www.hksusa.com/categories/?id=1077).
-on this link http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/ they tested many air filters and the 3-layer HKS shows a very poor filtration. So I supose that the yellow 2-layer filter has even worse filtration.
based on this I will try to combine a Begi intake box (http://www.bellengineering.net/product_info.php?cPath=1_32&products_id=217) with an Apexi Power Intake 80 mm filter (http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_suction_detail.asp?id=166&pageNum=1)
Does anyone have any of these parts instaled?
would anyone with a HKS racing suction reloaded please make a comment on this filter?
can the yellow filter be replaced with the green dry filter?
can it be replaced with another brand filter?
