It's the same exhaust on the P5 in the recent Turbo magazine. I found it for $350, sad thing is that it's only the rear section. It's on groupbuycenter.com and the vendor that is selling it is pretty reliable. Just thought I'd point it out to you guys. So, here's the link. I hope someone finds this info helpful. I would buy it and modify it to fit on my MP3, but the cash isn't there yet.

Hey APEX, I checked out the LINK and the muffler eventhough is the rear section looks very good. Is flush with the rear apron, I also notice that they have an INTAKE system and it is only for $120 shipped. It seems reasonable. Thanks for the link BRO. :D

No problem man, I hope someone looks into buying one. I'd like to see what they dyno with larger diameter piping and the rear muffler bolted on.

Hey Apex, I also found another site that has it! "nipponpower.com" has it for $336. I probably consider and see what gains we may get. It may not be much since it is only the rear section. Unless you go to a muffler shop and get another pipe to replace the center one going to the cat. We'll see.

exhaust

i dont see why you cant just go to a muffler shop and have them bend you a custom pipe. it may be cheaper to do that anyway. also as long as your pipe is the same diameter as your muffler you shouldnt have a problem. the car i had before my pro5 was a celebrity. i had them custom bend a 2-1/4 pipe and also bought a raven exhaust which increased flow. it only cost me around $220. the only real cost in an exhaust system is the muffler. i have seen mufflers that can go all the way up to 1g all by itself, and for that price its better just to do a straight pipe.

From what you wrote, it sounds like an exhaust for the P5 can not fit naturally for a Protege sedan (MP3 or other)? I thought it was just the other way around only (exhaust for MP3 unable to fit P5). bummers...... :(

To Pro5onspeed, yeah that exactly what I'm talking about. To have a muffler shop and have them make the other piece. Since this is only the rear section. To Allen, the HKS rear section by checking this 2 sites were made for the P5 and not for the MP3. I think what APEX said was he thgouth about modifying it and put it on the MP3. There are some rear sections made for the P3 like the original that do not fit the P5. I hope this thread does not become a war for just a part.

The P5 muffler in fact does not fit the Protege Sedans. The rear muffler section on the P5 is short than the rear section on the sedans. If I remember correctly, the P5 rear section is about 4 inches or so shorter. It may not make a big difference to some people.
