I was on my way to work this morning listening to my music and all of a sudden my highs cut out. Just my box was bumpin, it cuts back on and back off. I havnt gotten a chance to run out there and look but im guessing its a loose connection somewhere. I dont see how it can be because all of them were done pretty good. Can it be something else

well, first, let me just say that i love your p5 =). ok, now that thats out of the way, have you checked all the connections yet? that would be where id look first. it could also be that the amp is getting shorted out somewhere, but usually that would mean a blown fuse. and i doubt its your hu cause your subs were still getting a signal. so yea, id check your connections really quick and see if you find anything.

What in the system for the "highs"?
I assume by highs you mean everything but the subwoofer?

Well whats in my system aint to great by the means of highs. I have an old 250 pioneer amp (2 channel) Mb Quarts highs , and a dual headunit. I checked all my connections after work and they seemed fine. But itll still cut out everyonce in a while. Its really weird too, when it cuts out if i touch any button itll cut right back on. BUt if i wait itll take a lil bit longer to go on. My subs are bumpin the whole time when this is going on too. I got a crossfire with 2 jl audio 12 w3;s for my subs

I assume you have a wiring harness behind the headunit. Check the wires on that, it might be it. Since you are touching your headunit, it might just push on the wires in the back of it and gets straight signal. Might be when you are going over the bumps and such, the connection is lose and wires are bouncing and disconnecting for the highs.

yeah chances are if your touch the deck and it comes back on that pretty much nocks the amp and speakers of the list of possible problems. youve now narrowed it down to the headunit it can eiter be the unit or the wireing of the unit. if the unit is secured tightly (not moving when u hit it) and u say you can touch any button and the highs come back, i'd have to assume the headunit is malfunctioning. take it into a shop and have them bench test it for you.
