Higher boost with alcohol injection?

ive seen a lot of cars run FI without intercoolers but they are track cars. i am running aftermarket smic so i can keep the shorter piping

so should i get a FMI or will methanol work better?

Both.

I have both to be honest in 90+ weather I still get heatsoak.

Well, I think it's heatsoak, I have a hairline fracture in the stock mani, so it may be getting hot and leaking, and that may be what I'm perceiving as heatsoak, but I dunno, I don't think that's it.

It looks like you already have a Perrin FMIC though.

Thanks for being forthcoming with the info about the crack in the manifold. That will put a lot of heat in the engine bay.

Ok so just to make sure I understand this is what I've picked up.

There are two ways two uses to Meth Injection.

Safeguard Method
Recommendations:
  • For safely(?!) running boost (<= 10 psi) on stock block without detonation
  • EMS not required but piggy back (unichip/AFC) an asset

Performance/Big Boost Method
Recommendations:
  • Running between 10-16 PSI on stock block with little room for error
  • Running > 16 PSI w/ forged block
  • EMS w/ meth control pretty much a must
  • Tuned

In all cases the Meth kit should include
  • Knock light (just in case)
  • Boost By-pass
  • Flow monitoring

The side effects of running a Meth kit
  • Modifies AFR for slightly richer ratio
  • Cleans out cylinders and possibly exhaust path

for turbo get the FMI too, see the water injection will only turn on at boost, so if your cruising or idleing you will still see heat soak the intercooler will keep temps down and the water injection will lower them further and aid as well!

Which is why you implement as many safeguards as you can. You want something that detects flow, as well, rather than only having a fluid level switch in the reservoir. If the nozzle clogs, that would be just as dangerous, and the flow detector will save you if you have it hooked up to drop your boost when the event happens..
