Just wondering if anyone has rebuilt the mazdaspeed engine using low compression pistons and new crank. Have you had any problems? Just wanted some advice on whats best.

Id think that you would want to use a low compression piston based on the fact that you are gonna put a load on it with the turbo... correct me if i'm wrong but if you go high compression on a forced induction car it just goes "zoom zoom boom"

ok let me rephrase the first post. Basically what I wanna know is what the stock piston compression ratio is, also if anyone has put lower compression pistons in and if you had any problems with that. What are some of my different choices on pistons, rods, and cranks. Also if anyone has upgraded thier turbo or modified the stock turbo, just curious what that has done and if there were any problems with that. Finally If anyone has put in performance cams and same questions if you had any problems with that and so on...

thanks for your time, sorry so many questions.

OEM compression: 9.1:1

For the rest of the answers you need to search. There are lots of options out there and lots of people have tried each one.

there's a couple of people here who have had their engines rebuilt...most at 8.5:1. But yeah, the search button is your best friend right now
