HID questions

i have a 08gt so i have stock HIDs...are the stock HIDs 552 or 35w and do i need to buy a 55 watt kit or can i just get replacement HID bulbs? im getting 6000k but im just trying to figure out exactly what i need.

nope, all you need to order are a set of D2S bulbs to replace your stock HIDs, should be direct plug and play.

yup, just replace the bulbs. 6000k would be nice but i'm good with stock

thanks guys and one more question...the speed3 foglights would take the 9006 bulbs correct?

yep. get a set of 6000k for the fogs and youll be amazed at how much you werent seeing at night.

I pulled up the bulb listing for the car online, it lists both. Go with whatever the owners manual says.

i believe the bulb differences are certain model years. could be wrong. your welcome for such a certain answer.

My 07 just turned 36K and when i turn it on at nite, set to auto, the headlights flash before staying on, seems weird, don't remember it doing it last week, only had the car for a month

do you mean your headlights are set to auto all the time, or that they're set to off but after you start it up you switch to auto?

if you switch the lights to auto after starting up you have to go past the "on" switch to get to "auto"...by doing this it's turning the headlights on, then off when you switch to "auto" cuz there's probably a delay in the light sensor before it tells the computer to turn the lights on

it sounds more confusing than it really is

naw I just leave it on auto, My rolla was only auto. makes sense that way, ya loose a little control at the price of never forgettin to turn em off

so, set to auto prior to key in, gettin this flash, like a POP flash.

If you buy bulbs you will have a stock 35 watt HID with w.e. kelvin your bulbs are. If you want 55 watt HID's you need a 55 watt HID kit and replace the stock ballast with the 55 watt ones. Having owned both, 55 watt is a significant improvement.
