hi. i have just purchased a hid kit for my car from xenondepot.com. it is the 4000k hid. i was wondering where the power output for the headlamp is located. It says to connect to the oem connection to the car. Where is this connector?

In not sure, but doesnt it plug into the bulb socket that hooks up to your stock bulbs? If so, its basically attached to your headlight - take a peek, you will see it

the connector is 2 pronged. Here are some pics of it. hope it will make it kinda clearer.

Damn.. your connectors look totally different from my phillips kit. I cant tell what that is.. does it doesnt even look like it would hook up to the h7 headlamp harness for our pro 5's ... is it supposed to hook up to the battery somehow? No.. looking at your kit.. it looks like you would hook it up to one of the headlamp harnesses that is attached to the back of the stock lights.. it will use that source to let it know when you turn on your lamps.. but it doesnt look right for some reason.. maybe I just havent looked at mine lately.. hmmm.

Yup, your kit is like my K2 kit. It should be a simple plug-n-play, the hid harness should go directly with the stock harness (white).

how are these aftermarket hid kits working for you all? and how much is everyone paying? pics?

hehhe...where is this stock harness...where abouts is it???

Your stock wiring harness is what you pulled off of your original bulbs. Plug your kit into that. It's very basic. You might also need some high density foam to secure your bulb in the housing - I haven't seen the Xenon Depot H7 kit, so I can't say forsure.

If you need a hand installing your HID's just shoot me a PM - I've installed several sets.

If you don't mind me asking, how was the pricing on the Xenon Depot kit? I had the McCulloch kit, but ended up selling it for more than what I paid. I'm going to pick up a Xenon Depot kit, but I need performance parts first. :)

Cheers.

Anyone else have an idea of where this connector connects to because the stock wire harness is the white connector with 3 prongs that connects to the stock h7 bulb right...but the connector for the hid kit is 2 pronged...maybe there is another connector somewhere else. ..any ideas??

The reason it is 2 pronged is simply due to the fact that the hid kit only needs the negative and positive portions of the harness.. whereas the stock h7 uses the third prong for the high beam portion ( another positve active only when you highbeam) you will probably need to identify which is positive, and negative on the stock harness then simply slap them into the corresponding slots for - /+ hope that helps you .. man if you lived nearby I would install i for you in about 5 minutes..

so your saying that i need to tap into the wires of my stock harness??? would you have any idea which wire is positive or negative....i have installed projector headlights for a 2004 accord and i had to mess around with the wiring of it so i have an idea of what to expect. whats the worst that can happen if i put the wires the wrong way???

Yes.. you have to get the power from the stock harness.. the worse you could do I think is blow the fuses... you dont have a light indicator for + id? I got one from kragens for 99 cents.. and I cant do any type of instal w/o that thing.. man I need my car to look at the harness.. it was taken for an estimate on a door ding... by my bro in law... he will be back about 7 my time.. which is in what 5 hours..

If you need a hand installing it, bring it by our shop - 1687 Dugald Road.

If you can make it, I'll be here until 6pm. If not, send me a PM when you could do it and I'll meet you somewhere.

Cheers.

I just installed the xenondepot kit myself right now. This thread pretty much cleared up anything confusing, and now I can't wait for night fall.

just remmeber to re-aim them! They will more than likely need to go lower...or you will be mega blinding people.. our headlamps were not designed for hid...
