HID headlights

Just finished installing HID lights into my P5. The light kit was taken out of a 99 BMW 3 series. Modification was easy, installing them was a nightmare. The whole from bumper cover had to be removed to access the light housing. It was worth the effort. LIghts look really good.

Heres a few shots of the ballasts, the install isnt that pretty. I will be fabricating new brackets when i get back to work on mon. The last shot is the ignitor on the drivers side of the car. I had to zip tie it in because of the limited amount of mounting space. As far as pictures of the modified bulb socket and the headlight housing, i will post those when i take the car apart again to change the bulbs to a different color. Now the color is white. Im looking to get the blue or purple.

sorry about the size of the pics, straight out of the camera

hmm...I don't think it's good spot to attach your ballasts...
I attached mine right next to fusebox.

Did you get both of them near the fuse box? Why is the location not a good spot??? Will move them if necessary.

one for fuse box, and the other one I used brackets to mount it.
I think that area is easy access to water to get it, if you do high pressure car wash, in any case you want to avoide water getting to ballasts.

I ended up installing my ballasts underneath the headlights, behind the bumper rebar inside of the bumper. It's a nice and secure spot out of the weather and it won't get wrecked unless I get in a pretty heavy-duty front end collision.
