Hid d2s light bulb

Has anyone themselves changed the xenon HID D2S light bulb in their Mazda CX9? I know for sure it cost a lot at the dealership. Someone told me to disconnect the battery before doing this. Can't you just change it out without doing this like the old headlamps? And what aftermarket HID D2S light bulb did you use/buy?

It's actually a pretty simple process and you don't need to disconnect the battery (even though the manual strongly recommends it) ~ I bought a set of 6k bulbs and am loving it!

It should be the same. They are using H11 for single beam bulb.
However, in 2010 M3 GT, they use Bi-Xenon (dual beam).

Try not touch to the glass part of the HID bulbs with your fingers. Wear gloves.
Fingerprints will cause the glass to crack under extreme heat.
(my mechanic friend who own a repair shop once told me that)
Can't be sure it is true or not.

The reason to disconnect battery (repair manual ALWAYS tells you to do that as 1st step) is to be on the safe side. Imagine while you are changing the bulb and some idiot turns the lights on....
