Its not really that hard. I am not expert either, but I install mine myself. Hint: don't forget to lay out ALL the parts before installing it though. I didn't lay out all the parts and the one I needed was in my car the whole time. Make sure you follow it step-by-step! Excellent results!!!

HiBoost TS - Juan, I believed you failed to mention that Jared's two radiator fans weren't working properly (not to mention his cracked exhaust manifold). Those would both attribute to the higher intake air temps as well as the power difference
Jared had sent us an email notifying/confirming that his rad fans were not working right as well as his cracked exhaust manifold. Therefore this is obviously NOT the same conditions
For those who are interested, the "other car" was not a MSP equipped w/ the same components but a P5 w/the same C/R was running an IHI VF22 turbo not a GT28RS (or variant). The GT28RS turbo would've performed best with at least a 9:1 C/R rather then the 8:5 C/R that was installed in Jared's MSP. Had the proper compression ratio been used; the numbers would have changed in favor of the GT28RS not the IHI VF22.

Hey guys, let's just chill and clarify some things.
Here is what it boiled down to. HiBoost P5 and my MSP were at the dyno.
Same haltech EMS, same injectors, both 8.5 to 1 compression to allow for running higher boost on 91 octane. The P5 had the hi boost kit with the IHI turbo and mine had the GT28RS with Ion Turboback Exhaust and FMIC with CAI. My car had just finished about an hour and a half on the dyno while the hiboost p5 had been sitting for hours before going on the dyno (also could have contributed some to the temp differences) but temps were consistently higher on my car, to be expected in these conditions by a couple of degress but not the large difference that we saw. (again several outside factors and problems contributed to the high temps beyond the FMIC).
Limiting factors on my car that I have discovered since the dino day and in Juan's defense he did not know this at the time that he posted. It looks like one of my radiator fans (the Passenger side) may have been broken at the time of the dyno, attributing to high coolant temps and extremely high intake air temps.
My car has a cracked exhaust manifold right now which certainly may have contributed as well as a loose s-pipe to turbo connection (again discovered today, Juan didn't have knowledge of this when he posted)
After I get my cooling issues sorted out and get a new manifold on the car it will be going back to dyno for more tuning, we'll see what happens then.
Juan and Jack are both knowledgeable guys that know their stuff. Both have a quality product and both have been super helpful in getting my car to where it is today and where it will be in the next couple of months when all the wrinkles get worked out. I wouldn't be anywhere close to where I am without either of them and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend both Juan and Jack.
My personal opinion is both kits are good. I have seen both in person and have the ION on my car and have been super happy with it. It's the only FMIC kit for the Mazdaspeed that lets you replace the radiator with a standard P5 or upgraded radiator and the workmanship and materials are top notch. It depends on what you want to do with your car. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

you will be getting about the same amount of gain from either kit, one or the other may give you 1 xtra hp. But the hi-boost kit is cheaper than Ion's and you get a BOV with it, you don't get one from Ion.

chillinmcmillan - Gains maybe "similar" however your maximum thermal capacities would be different due to the cores. FYI, we use full stainless piping & SS t-bolt clamps in addition to 4ply silicone hose. So depending on geographic region; corrosion maybe something you would be concerned about.
