Ok well, I'm leaning towards hiboost atm for a turbo kit...assuming I get a p5 ecu, my question is whether or not it will throw a CEL for another reason, since I do need to bring it in for inspection and a CEL is a no no. Also, I am able to run the car without a hassle using the mp3 ecu as long as I'm around 4psi right? Is it possible to just kinda turn off the turbo (0 psi) and not worry about it at all?

you will throw a CEL with a p5 ecu b/c you don't have vtcs

yeah I know that part, but besides that would there be another reason to throw one since it only really matters during inspection when I'd use my regular ecu anyway

With the HiBoost kit, and an E6X you should be able to keep the MP3 ECU. I am keeping mine, and will have management soon.

well it's not driving around that I'm really worried about, it's the fact that I live in NY and if I have a CEL when I need it inspected, it's not gonna pass

You can now get your HiBoost kit with the E6X Haltech ECU. With this, the advanced timing issue of the MP3 is no longer a problem. I will not throw a CEL and you can run 10 lbs safely. You may get the optional boost controller that allows you to set the exact boost you want with the turn of a knob. This is an option that is very inexpensive. Most controllers are around $350 to $500. Ours is only $180.00 and it is fully electronic. It works alot better than most controllers. You can map the boost curve to your own liking.

I am still working on it. We have just minor details which are being worked between Haltech and me to make it perfect for proteges. I want it as simple as posible, yet with all the features to make our kit even better. I already have one running.

I will let you know inmediately after is tuned perfectly and ready for shipping.

If you don't eliminate your second cat just relocate your 2nd O2 behind the 2nd cat no cel, thats what I did worked perfect
