HiBoost + ECU Reset?

Just wondering if there is any reason to reset the ECU after installing the HIBOOST FMIC kit. I've noticed the car still turkey's with the HKS BOV.. Any help on this matter?!?!

I don't believe resetting the ecu will have any affect on the Turkey. You might as well figure that if it is a recirculating bov you'll have it. But I may be wrong.

There have been several people use greddy type s with the hiboost fmic. TX speed demon has a how to on it somewhere. But they let it vent into the atmosphere and it kills the turkey. You just have to tighten the set nut until it drops back to idle without stalling. I'll be finding out next week hopefully. My hiboost kit w/ Greddy Type S should be in the mail at the end of this week. But look for the how to. It's pretty descriptive.

Yep, I'll be ordering the Greddy Type-S soon. I was going to get it now, but I got a damn speeding ticket on the way back from Missouri :(

is it the valve its self that is making the noise? I have my stock bpv releasing to atm with the help of a check valve and I still have the turkey. So I'm not recirculating the air. Is it the way the valve is releasing the pressure that is causing the problem?

I only get turkey with the hks under partial load (like 1/4 shifts and not spooling up). Otherwise I get one sharp and very loud chirp out of the valve. It may just be the way you have the washer and spring put in there.

No, the valve itself is not making the "turkey" it is the air echoing inside the piping and the sound, I believe, comes from the intake, which is why when you put an Injen CIA on it amplifies the sound becuase the CAI is much easier flowing and less restrictive than the stocker.

Heathen23 take out that black grill in front of your FMIC, it looks much better :)

I had it out for a while after I hit a cat or rabbit that flew out from another car. It just attracts rice and doesn't completely fill the grill. I like it quiet like with the grill in.

It's not the air echoing inside your pipes. The bpv's and recirculating bov's don't let the pressure out fast enough, which cause the turbine to back spin while it's still spinng in the right direction. Hence the turkey

I guess you guys dont understand what I'm saying. I'm not reciculating the air. The air is being release to atm. The set up I have is a stock bpv that is being vented using a check valve so that the car will not stall. The set up seems to be working fine but I need to work out one more thing. So the to recap, the air is not going back into the intake pipe and I still have the turkey. Something else has to be causing the turkey because it has nothing to do with recirculating the air back into the intake.

Do you have hard pipes or are you still running stock plastic pipes. The stock plastic pipes do swell and contract which could contribute to it, But I still think that your stock bpv isn't letting the pressure escape quick enough to keep the turbine from backspinning. Regardless of whether you venting to the atmosphere or recircing the stock bpv isn't going to do the job.

if rock hits it, say bye bye to your fins....
unless that fmic is of bad quality, rocks should NOT hurt it, fins can always be fixed anyhow, just a pain, unless we are talking about 10 lb rocks that would be different i guess =)

spearco core, better not be bad :)

I'm willing to take the risk.

No it's an Atmospheric BOV and it doesn't exactly Turkey but it sounds like the valve is opening and closing as opposed to just opening and then closing once.

That is what it sounds like, but trust me, the valve is not opening and closing. It is the air inside your pipes doing some weird crap and making the sound, I promise you it is not the valve.
