Just picked up a 2008.5 Black mica GT last month. So far just Rota tarmac 3's in hyper-black, tint and black emblems. Dont know about performance mods, want to keep my warrenty. Really enjoying her so far fun little car, I'll post a few pic's.

nice. congrats and welcome.
if you do want to do performance mods, talk to your service advisor and see where the dealership stands on mods.

for now, have fun

I just asked mine about a boost gauge he said it would void the warranty, I told him well the car should have come with one he agreed but still stood behind saying that even a boost gauge will void it. weird.

edit. oh and btw nice car looks good in black.

Sweet ride, man. I like the combination of the black car and those wheels. Black isn't my favorite flavor, but then you didn't ask me to help pay for it. ;) Here in the Florida heat, that color's murder.

As for mods, the "consult the dealer" is good advice. I've shown my mods to the "leadfoot" at the dealer and he's given his "approval". 'Course he probably has no say if it boils down to mod-related warranty issues.

Black was my second choice, I wanted the red but my wife was really against it so to keep the peace I got the black. I would like to get 300 hp at the flywheel, I think I could do that with a few bolt ons but I will check with the service department first. Not gonna do heavy modds as she is my work commuter, drivability and fuel milage are a consideration. Gauges would be nice, cant believe they will try to void your warrenty over a safety item.

exactly what I told the guy, that it would be nice to see if my boost is constant and my car doesn't blow up, maybe I will check a different Mazda dealer see what they say.

Welcome to the forums. I can't believe they'd void your warranty for a boost gauge.

I would question whether they even know what a boost gauge is. Those might be the guys who'd tell you window tint voids the warranty. (boom06)

I agree, any device which can monitor existing engine conditions should be a good thing. I believe they should have an oil pressure as well as an oil tem gauge, considering how much stress is placed on the oil in a turbo'd engine.

i dont know how much you like mazdaspeed products but i heard the mazdaspeed catback and i have the mazdaspeed intake and they both sound really nice while adding some hp and tq. and mazda can defintely not void you on warranty if you have those products installed.
