Hi Everyone, Question on 1980 RX-7 Emissions

Hi All,
I have a 1980 RX-7 that grossly failed CO2 emissions in the california emission testing. I am looking for some guidance on a couple of things.

1. What are the things I should check (easiest to hardest)?
2. Where would I buy a thermal reactor?
3. I know I have a small hole in the exhaust as the fumes vome up in the cabin. Where could I buy one or get the exhaust replaced? Is there a performance kit where I could replace it and also boost the perfromance while still passing CA emissions?

I know I am asking alot, but I am looking to restore the car this summer and want to do my homework

I would get in touch with Racing Beat. Some of their stuff (cat back a least) should meet emissions. Not sure about your other questions. Someone else should chime in soon.

BTW, save all your receipts because unless things have changed since I lived in Cali you are only required to spend a certain amount of $$, and then you should get the emissions waved for a year. Not ideal, but gets you back on the road without breaking the bank.
