Everyone go out today (or at least this weekend) and check your oil and tire pressure. Now. Go. Stop reading. Go now.

Oh no, not the tire pressure issue again. Day to day, I run 34 front and 32 rear. Now that it's warmed up a bit, I raised the pressures. It's all a ride preference thing. All I know is that there used to be some people on here running 40+ psi, and that's just plain stupid unless you drive Deals Gap to and from work.
Just my opinion.
As for checking pressures and oil, I do it at least twice a week anyway. I usually race each weekend, or take a trip, so thursday or friday evenings and monday evenings, I'm tinkering in the car. :)

you are right...all to often during the winter months our rides get neglected....and with the changing weather now....tire presure is going to be effected....just ambient temps can change your presure....good suggestion...

god knows MOST people don't check their oil and other fluid levels very often...

fluids, including air

Air is a fluid, and thanks, I checked mine today whilst changing the oil. 32 all around. If I was to pick nits, I guess I'd have to admit that glass is a fluid too, but what can you do about your windshield?

Oh and I think it's worth the money to invest in a decent digital tire pressure gauge. I find at least for me they are more consistently accurate...with the mechanical ones(the silver doodads that shoot out the pressure on a little stick) I get different measurements but the digital are dead on every time.

if it makes you feel better, i changed my oil this weekend. to bad i was in a rush and the oil was still a little warm (not enough cool time, beer was calling me) no burns but it woke me up. :D

I live in Cali, so nothing to really worry about here. I checked my girlfriends car instead.

ACTUALLY that is a good thing.....IF you can...you should always start your car and get it all good and warmed up and things circulating around before you change the oil....yeah its HOT and yo have to be careful....BUT...now as many contaminients are possible are suspended in the oil and will drain out with it when you pull the plug....THIS is a good thing. :{D

Being a little warmer, wouldn't that also mean it'd flow out quicker as it'd be thinned out a little? :)

Man I drove for about 1 1/2 hours on the highway yesterday and my window was just covered in bugs that were too slow to get outta the way.....good thing I carry window cleaner with me! :)

Checked the oil today while filling up the tank (actually, had to fill tank and THEN check oil...since some nanny nation idiots decided that you can't have triggers on the gas pumps in NY State*).

* Actually, that's not completely true...if you are a low-paid gas jockey working at the station's full serve pumps, you can use a pump trigger lock...but the public is considered too stupid to handle this (???!!).

Checked air pressures (and noticed that the cheap-ass black plastic valvestem covers are still there!!) running 35 psi front, 32 psi rear.

I was speaking of checking the tire pressure. When I said nothing to worry about. I just changed her oil yesterday. Poor girl didn't even know how to pop the hood or where her spare tire was.

you really should make a practice of getting your car all warmed up and all BEFORE you drain your oil....you will get more of the bad stuff out that way.
