Hey there!

Hi all. Just figured I'd tell a bit about me. I'm 22, going into pharmaceutical sciences/inorganic chemistry (most likely minoring in psychology) for school. Traded in my 2009 Cobalt SS/TC coupe about 2 months ago for my 2009 Metropolitan Grey Mazdaspeed 3 GT. I needed the space and convenience of the 4 door hatchback. I've owned a 2004 SVT Focus (when I first fell in love with the hatchback) and a 2001 Camaro SS 6 speed (full bolt on w/ cam and gears, 430rwhp). Then 3 other non performance oriented cars.

Love the car so far, probably will do a Turbosmart BOV 100% recirculating, and boost gauge in the next couple months and 20% tint on sides and back in the next couple of weeks.

Couple pics with removed side moldings. I need to give the car an official photoshoot soon. I'm also a photographer on the side with a business just starting up.

Welcome aboard!

How would you compare the 2009 Cobalt SS to the Speed3?
I think I've read that TC Cobalt SS is supposed to be faster and more agile than the Speed3; what do you think?

While the SS was definitely a boy racer type of car, it was not very luxurious like this car is. This car is nicer with the larger engine and more torque but I'll bet the SS was quicker by a small amount. This is just better and more fun to drive around.

Great color choice. MGM rules.(first)

Thanks guys! Can't wait to get tint and coil overs on this. Of course the wheel choice I want is rather expensive so it'll be awhile. Any good front lips you all know of? I feel like it would benefit the look but want something that is subtle yet nice looking.

The two lips that have been discussed the most:

1. Garage Vary lip (aka GV lip)
2. DG lip

Personally, I like GV better. Nextmod makes a knockoff of GV, but the fitment is so horrible that there are many threads of complaints against Nextmod due to this issue.

Also, BC coilovers are pretty popular here...

I've liked BC's quality from what I've seen. I like subtle and the DG lip looks to be what I'm looking for! Thanks!

welcome to the forums...

I have the same tint as you are planning on getting. Only difference is that the rear is 5% I'll tell you one thing...the Speed's black interior makes the tint look ALOT darker...but looks sweet as hell...

Best of luck to you in the future with the car and the business

Thanks! My explorer seems to have 5% due to the last owner but I had 20% all around for my cobalt and loved it, and 35% front, 20% on the back for my camaro and decided all around 20% is the best. :D

you're gonna love it on the speed
as i mentioned before the dark interior really works with the tint.

Question.

What did you use in photoshop to clean those pictures up? Curves? Combination or something?

I think I spy a little add in on the hood in the first picture. Not sure though.

Honestly not much. Levels were all pretty good, not really any adjustments. Bumped saturation down for the background so the car stood out more and sharpened the car. Was too lazy to clone out the basketball goal reflection lol.

Yeah the 3rd one looks almost untouched. The first two were sticking out at me. Stupid reflections like that basketball goal, among many other things, are why I HATE driveway photoshoots. haha.
