Hey guys i found some wheels i like but i wanted to know if i could have wheels that at 18x8.5 with a 47 offset?? if so what tire could i possibly run

and if that is a no go with a 18x7.5 what offset should i get to run the widest tires i could. (+37 +42 +47 +52)

8.5 is largly uncharted territory on the MS3. One dude has confirmed that a wedsport in a 53mm offset will work with a 235 width tire but it is extremely close to rubbing on the inside. HAving a 47mmoffset will give you more clearance on the inside but then you willl probly rub on the outside. So I think the high offsets(52-53) are the way to go as long as they clear on the inside they will be gold for the widest setup. I am really curious about if a 245 tire will clear on a high offset like that.

I have a track only set 17 x 8.5 et+42 running on 235x40 and they are awesome. I took it to the first AX of the season yesterday and no rubbing whatsoever even though it was a very fast and tight course. :)

I wouldn't go with 8.5 on a 18" rim as I am sure you'll rub unless your offset is >+53 and that will put you very very close to the strut. I assume you'll be running 235/245 tires right? No need to go with this width for 215/225 tires.

(hump)18x7 et55 with 235/40 and plenty of room to spare. Mod on the other forum is running 18x8 wedsports, might be et49 or 52, dont completely remember, with 245s and only gets a little bit of rub on full lock.

Ill be running 255 or 65s in another few weeks, just need the weather to start warming up. My fenders are also going to be rolled and pulled as well..

Don't know what pulled means, sorry just learnt how fenders are rolled.

So an 8.5 with a fender roll will work with a 48 offset? What about the front fender, no problems clearing?

Here is what I know. I have 7.5" 48mm offsets running 235x40x18s on stock suspension. There was a rub on the rear inner fender which is totally addressed by rolling those. There was no sign of any contact in the front (which I dont think you can roll anyway). I dont know if the 8.5" will be too wide...

235x40 is probably enough for now in rear but I still need to drop and increase stiffness. What do you think. Mazdaspeed are I believe are 15mm Cobb are closer to an inch I thought. tks

The guys who tested my car after rolling the fenders (Group5 in SD) said it would be no problem to do some lower springs after the roll. I'm considering both Mazdaspeed and Cobb. I like the MS kit because it includes the camber parts and is not an extreme drop. But I have a Cobb rear swaybar and it's great so I may reconsider..

Ive got an appoint here in HB to have my rear fenders rolled. Like you, i wanted springs. I went the Cobb route because you dont need to get the camber kit with em.

Let me know how you like them. The quality of the swaybar is great...

Good stuff, I've said that I'd like a tuned package( bars, springs, so I lean towards Cobb and there aren't any options yet. Cobb has done a quality job to be sure, I guess i,ll just call them and get specific skinny Thanks2
