im doing some interior mods this weekend and i wanted to know how-to remove the trim around the stereo and climate controls and also the trim aroun the shifter. im painting the silver trim pices white. so i need to know how to get them off. thx in advance.

The trim around the shifter (at least on my manual) simply pulls right off. I'd imagine the radio bezel does the same.

yes they both are just clipped in. be careful though you can break the clips you will also have to disconnect the a/c conntrols there is a wire on each side of the controls that run to levers further back under the dash. hope that helps

Here's how the mazda people are supposed to do it. I think the thread with Ryan's picture how to is pretty sharp though. Maybe someday Mazda will get a digital camera to use in their shop manual.
