might be stupid question but i just started driving stick, i know how to drivve but the msp seems to have a high clutch. when shifting is it alrite to not put the cluch right to the floor?
you have to release the clutch 3 inches or so before it starts grabbing there nothing wrong. i just wanna know in general on a manual car can u shift where the grabbinmg point is or is it good to bring the clutch right tot he floor
seems to me that it would take more effort to concentrate on only pushing the clutch in part way to shift. why not just push it to the floor, grab the next gear, and go. the only reason i can even think of considering someone partially disengaging the clutch is because they recline their seat so far back that they can see out the back windows instead of over the wheel; i hate that s*** sooooo much.... sorry, my little rant on other people's driving position.
agree with everyone else, whats the extra few inches going to do? slam her down... but I guess to answer your question if your not having problems getting into gear, like your not grinding anything I dont see the problem even though Im sure your clutch could most likely burn up faster from slipping a little if it is... Someone may want to confirm that however
just puch it all the way in, its faster and you wont have to keep trying to measure how many inches you've went before shifting. But like someone else here siad, as long as you dont here any grinding, then you should be fine.
