Help with Performance

Hey as you can see am ignorant in this matter, Ive learned a lot but... anyways...If I was to try to get more Horsepower and I would like to to put some parts on the car, what would you guys recommend to do first, cause I wanted to get a new clutch ( Stage 2 or whatever) for it, but I just dont know if it would do anything without modifying the engine, I currently have a Huge Greddy Intercooler, Greddy Type S BOV, and I think thats pretty much it!... Oh almost forgot I also have a B-profec II, can you guide me?

So far you have done a good job making the car as ugly as possible, that's a good start. As for the clutch unless yours is slipping under your massive 160hp you don't really need a new one.

Im only doing about 10 psi, but i figured there has to be a way to upgrade performance step by step without having to spend lots of money at once... and yes i get it nobody (in the forum) likes the Wing, thats cool with me, i absolutely love it!!

Replacing a good clutch with an expensive one you don't need is a fantastic way to waste money for no added performance.

Why don't you invest in some good tires first along with supporting modifications to match your "huge GReddy intercooler?"

Ah **** it, why do I even try. (shrug)

Why's everyone have to be such a dick.

Maybe if we lead him on the right path, his mods will become more "purposeful"

you pick cheap and fast its not reliable

you pick cheap and reliable its not fast

if you pick fast and reliable its not cheap

we tried, it didnt work

x2 ...... not tryin to b mean there but.. damn wat happend to that msp .. it need sum proper luv ... (inout)

I'm in shock....(wow) The clutch is the last thing you should be worrying about right now.

You want a little more pep...then start with exhaust upgrade....not just the muffler or a muffler tip! I'm talking about the S-pipe and down pipe atleast. Then work your way towards upgrading the intercooler. Once that's done get yourself an AFC or Unichip piggyback system....and only then should you start raising the boost! Good luck!

Whatever. Some people need to be told s*** the straight dope without watering everything down. (pissed)

If you really care about getting performance go down to Barnes and Noble and got pick up Maxium Boost by Corky Bell and read it cover to cover. After that you'll be atleast on the right track.

I know read a book, it's crazy!

(omg)(RTM)

Start with an Injen intake, now get better motor mounts, and then get some Hardpipes (go on ahead and relocate your maf), then your going to want to open up the exhaust from the manifold back (hopefully getting some of the responce you lost with your intercoolerzilla), now its time to get your LSD welded, and a good clutch-flywheel, and-synthetic tranny fluid, get some ebc pads and rotors all around, and some steal braided lines, Now its time for a unichip, better wastegate and some good gauges, oh and better injectors (WRX), go and get a good tune. Might as well get a deep sump oil pan as well. NOTICE HOW I NEVER SAID JUMP THE BOOST! on an unopened block this is like popping a soap bubble. All of those things should give you a really quick and well rounded MSP. Its my game plan anyway.

If you do all that and its still not fast enough, then then get a forged block, and a highboost turbo kit courtesy of protege garage, also some reworking the head would not be a bad Idea either. You will also need to get a full stand alone engine management, and prob some better axles up front. Now its finally time to turn up the boost and be honest to goodness fast. Expect at least a few problems and a good tune is a must.

I didnt take the time to mention a lot of the little things you would want like a turbo timer, or the clunk fix bracket, but feel free to add anything I missed.

Start with an Injen intakeThat is a waste of 250 dollars, just buy a K&N filter and keep the stock box,now get better motor mountsFront motor mount is sufficient for now, and then get some HardpipesThat is another waste of money, the stock pipes are good enough for low boost, if they are leaking then upgrade but they most likely arent (go on ahead and relocate your maf), then your going to want to open up the exhaust from the manifold back (hopefully getting some of the responce you lost with your intercoolerzilla)Dont waste ur money on buying an s-pipe. not worth the trouble or the gains for the price, now its time to get your LSD weldedgood idea but will be expensive, and a good clutch-flywheelawful idea, the stock clutch is mroe than enough for 10 psi, and a new flywheel is expensive if he is trying to save money, and-synthetic tranny fluid, get some ebc pads and rotors all around, and some steal braided linesonce again if he is trying to save money not necessary, i have stock lines and my car brakes like a mofo, Now its time for a unichipi would go with the A/F controller, better wastegate no need in replacing right now and some good gauges, oh and better injectors (WRX), go and get a good tune. Might as well get a deep sump oil pan as wellanother great way to waste money at this stage, the stock pan is more than enough, even on a built engine. NOTICE HOW I NEVER SAID JUMP THE BOOST! for sure rods are weak as ****on an unopened block this is like popping a soap bubble.
